Blam! Wham! Bam! Bang! Four planets go direct this month taking life OFF HOLD and helping us to move back into forward motion. Thank the gods we can pass Go and collect our $300 again-- ala Monopoly! The Mercury Retro in September along with all the outer planets retro (except Uranus) made September quite an anxiety fest. It was no fun feeling like we’ve got to get things done but there’s blockage from every angle. I will blame the North Node in Gemini and Sun in Virgo in September, Big Time. All of our circuits are Covid-fatigued and the Virgo Sun sign period with its nervous Mercury energy was just the last straw. Having Neptune on slow speed in Pisces (squaring both the North Node and the Sun) was no party either. So, October gives us a chance to turn the page and get Life moving again! The New Moon at 7:05 a.m. EDT is especially upbeat on Wednesday the 6 ^th in the sign of social graces—Libra. Pluto also goes direct on this day at 2:29 p.m. EDT. Still under the influence of the Mercury retrograde, this is a day to fully realize which social situations and romantic and business partnerships are working for us and which are not. Make time to touch base with the partners that are working for you today and set a fall goal toward something you want to accomplish together. It could be a fun fall hiking trip, a performance you want to attend, holding an art opening or a dinner together or even just emailing an exciting new client to propose an idea. Find a way to touch base with prospective clients by emailing, texting or calling. Today is a day to take a step in the right direction.

The next Superstar Day on the agenda in October is Sunday the 10 ^th when Saturn, the Master of self-discipline goes direct. It is now time to move forward with our business plans. We can finally get some traction again in our work. However, if you need to file incorporation papers or put up a website, this month is a good time to do it ONCE --and only once-- Mercury and Jupiter also go direct on Monday the 18 ^th . Monday the 18 ^th will put a spring back in our step when Jupiter goes direct in the middle of the night at 1:30 a.m. EDT. It may even be ecstatic enough to wake us up in the middle of the night with its upbeat Aquarian energy. Mercury joins the planets-direct- party at 11:17 a.m. EDT in Libra on the 18 ^th . There are good planetary aspects all day with the Moon in passionate Aries and Mars in Libra making a harmonious trine to Jupiter in Aquarius. Innovation on projects we are passionate about is the name of the game today and for the rest of this month with that dynamic planetary energy!---- Finally!

The Full Moon on Wednesday, October 20 ^th takes place at 10:57 a.m. EDT. There is a major square from Pluto in Capricorn on this day to the Sun and Moon announcing a long-called-for change. Pluto will make a major challenge (or square) to the Sun in Libra and the Moon in Aries. This is a day for a political change on the world stage or a “take back” of personal power on the smaller stage of our own lives. There has been a situation festering for a long time that is causing major damage. When Pluto makes the square we have the needed trigger to fight, to battle, to charge forward for what is needed to set the situation straight. Pluto is extreme and often requires the faltering old house (of our dilemma) to be burned to the ground and rebuilt again. Identify the area of your life that needs a major re-make. Grab your box of matches and some lighter fluid. Take decisive energy today to change what is broken down. The situation will yield good results starting today. By October 23 ^rd , when the Sun moves into Pluto’s sign of Scorpio you will begin to see shoots of new growth beginning to surface. Mars in Libra conjunct the Full Moon Sun will give us the strength and courage we need to fight for needed change. Mars in Libra is the “steel hand in the velvet glove.” Libran diplomacy can be used despite the need for decisive action. The U.S. Infrastructure Deal has a good possibility of being passed by October 31 ^st with the possible passing of the transportation segment of the deal. The masses may even demonstrate in Washington to show support for rebuilding a decaying U.S. infrastructure’s overaged bridges, highways, trains and municipal airports. It’s time to bite the bullet to get this important process started. The jobs it will generate are a major plus alone. Let us hope that our representatives in Washington-- on both sides of the aisle-- will see the need and the benefit.

Happy Birthday Scorpio! The Sun enters your sign on Saturday the 23 ^rd at 12:51 a.m. EDT and it will stay in your sign until Sunday the 21 ^st of November. Saturn in Aquarius this year has been urging you to take responsibility for your health and welfare this year. Be sure you have your vaccines, your healthcare, your pension plan and a backup income replacer such as Aflac in good order this fall. You will be physically challenged in October as your Sun is gathering strength for its return as of October 23 ^rd . Take naps when needed and don’t overschedule yourself. On the world stage, major Mars aspects indicate that the courageous and risk-taking character of Mars is likely to be used by the U.S. military in the first two weeks of September. This Mars energy will be used to carry out black ops to extract U.S. citizens and foreign nationals from Kabul, Afghanistan AFTER the August 31 ^st deadline. It will have to be done extremely carefully with the cooperation of the Taliban who have been working with the U.S. Fortunately this courageous Mars will be tempered by the analytical nature of Mars in Virgo (where it is transiting now) as well as the Sun in Virgo. The Responsibility for the suicide bombing on August 25 ^th was claimed by the radical Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP). The ISKP claimed responsibility for the bombing of two gates surrounding the Kabul airport on the civilian side. Let us hope that no further incident will cause destruction in Kabul this month.

On a personal level the Mars opposing Neptune transit of the first week of September will create a feeling of physical weakness and lack of confidence. This aspect may correlate to weakened personal health as the new Covid variants begin their sweep through many countries around the world. Many U.S. state courts are ruling now that governors cannot dictate against a mask mandate in the public schools. It will be very important for us to protect ourselves against Covid exposure during the Labor Day weekend in the U.S. Neptune rules infectious diseases and Mars in Virgo opposing Neptune will cause our Mars energy and immunity to be weakened significantly. Stay safe, avoid crowds and wear a mask in public. If you have an opportunity to get vaccinated or to receive a booster shot please do so for your own safety and the collective safety of your community.

The New Moon this month will occur on Monday the 6 ^th , Labor Day itself, at 8:52 p.m. This New Moon in the sign of Virgo helps us to get organized for the fall. Take some time today to make a list of what you want to accomplish between now and the spring. These goals can be personal, work-related or creative projects or a mix of all three. This is a very practical New Moon with positive aspects between inner and outer planets that can help us to “get it done!” Mars on this day makes a harmonizing trine to Pluto. With this aspect we are able to focus our energy to take care of long- standing issues that have been causing us trouble for quite a while. The energy we can rally today shows our need to resolve the issue and it’s a great relief to take care of it. Also on this day Venus makes a positive trine to Jupiter, with both in air signs. Ideas conceived today can bring us a higher level of abundance. Be sure to make note of these ideas. They may be valuable at a later date when you need them! Also beware of spending too much money between the 5 ^th and 6th caused by the upbeat and optimistic mood created by this Venus/Jupiter combo. Conversely Venus makes a challenging square aspect to Pluto this week. Existing relationships become very intense under this aspect and new ones center around issues of power and control. If you meet someone you’re attracted to now the attraction will be instant and magnetic. The origins of this relationship are likely to be karmic however so be prepared to be strongly transformed by this relationship for good or for ill. The Sun in Virgo also makes a harmonious trine to Uranus in Taurus on this New Moon day. Be prepared to upgrade certain elements of your life now. You deserve to make life easier for yourself via technology! Overall, this New Moon makes us aware of the person we CAN BE with the courage of our convictions. Go for your Bliss! Having a plan for goals and benchmarks along the way, Virgo-style, will allow you to feel more fulfilled by this time next year.

On Friday the 10 ^th Venus moves into the slinky sign of Scorpio for a month between today at 4:39 p.m. EDT and October 7 ^th . Venus is the planet of love and romance. It also indicates what topics interest us during a given period of time. With Venus in Scorpio we are interested in the occult, hidden information and investigation in general. Psychology and mysticism will draw us in. Relationships begun at this time will be very intense on a physical level as well as emotionally. We may soon feel as though we can’t tolerate this person who seemed so charming last week or we may feel we can’t live without them. Either way, this is a very psychologically intense time of year!

On Tuesday the 14 ^th Mars. The planet of motivation and passion makes its entrance into Libra, the sign of Justice, at 8:14 p.m. EDT. Mars will remain in the sign of the Scales from today through October 30 ^th , just before Halloween. Mars in Libra is an activist or a soldier who will fight for his or her perceived version of justice. This is likely to be a dangerous period in the Middle East as fundamentalist leaders convince their followers of the need to defend their point of view. Regardless of where you live, watch out for road rage on the street and general random acts of meanness. If you are a person who respects the opinions of others this is a productive time during which you can share information and learn greatly from others.

The Moon waxes to full on Monday the 20 ^th at 7:55 p.m. EDT. The Sun is conjunct Mars on the 18 ^th , 19 ^th and 20th and Neptune is conjunct the Moon. With the Sun conjunct Mars in Virgo there is a buildup of energy in the body that can be used to accomplish major projects. Creative projects that are physical are especially attractive during these three days because we have “energy to burn.” If you are not able to use your energy today beware of a tendency you may have toward accidents now due to repressed energy. This would be a day to take a vigorous walk if you have nothing physical to do. Likewise, projects requiring mental energy can be brought to a successful advancement now. With Neptune conjunct the Moon in Pisces this is a day when our emotional sensitivity may have us feeling inadequate and abandoned or confused. Remember that these feelings are temporary and that you will be feeling better soon. Neptune can cause disillusionment but also cause us to be enamored or hypnotized by a person or situation. A movie or tv series binge is perfect for this weekend as Pisces rules film. Again, remember that this is a temporary illusion of perfection that will not last. Spiritual connection is heightened by the Moon conjunct Neptune, especially in the sign of Pisces. This is the ideal weekend for meditation.

Tuesday the 21 ^st is the UN International Day of Peace. The Moon in Aries today and the lingering influence of the Sun conjunct Mars can help peace activism groups to accomplish major goals. This would be a good day to hold a public event for a good cause. Keep it peaceful.

Happy Birthday Libra! The Fall Equinox takes place at 3:21 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, September 22 ^nd . This is the day when the Sun departs Virgo and enters Libra until October 23 ^rd this year. The Libra Sun sign period is a very social time when many artistic and social events bring our awareness to Venus-centered energy. Fall concerts, art shows, theater and fashion events bring a sparkle to our lives. If we are not able to attend in person due to Covid there are likely to be online events which give us an opportunity to get together. Libra Sun sign folks are great activists for a cause especially one involving civil and gender justice. Enjoy the cooling Fall weather at an apple picking event or watching the fall colors come to fullness. Fall hikes are a Covid-safe activity that we can all take part in.

Mercury joins the massive Retrograde planet party on Monday the 27 ^th at 1:10 a.m. EDT. Mercury will be at 26 degrees Libra when it retrogrades. This period will last three weeks until October 18 ^th when Mercury and Jupiter in Aquarius will both go direct causing major influxes of information to flood the airwaves. With Mercury retrograde in Libra, there is a risk of many misunderstandings in relationships and partnerships. This is an ideal time to take stock of your romantic and business relationship(s) rather than moving forward on any projects together. Assess whether there is an equal division of labor and whether you feel you receive from your partner, in some degree, what you give. Sometimes the division of labor and the balance of giving is not meant to be equal but you will know whether you feel you are receiving what you need to from your partner. If you are not, mid-October is a time when you may wish to part ways or to reduce your involvement with this partner. If you do feel that you are receiving your due, you can resume your activity with this person with renewed commitment. From September 27 ^th to October 5 ^th Mercury and all of the outer planets are retrograde, making this a time to assess our relationships our work and creative projects rather than taking action. Whenever there is a retrograde we are likely to practice “re” activities such as returns, re-assessments, renewals, reflection, rewrites etc. Avoid signing contracts on a business or a new home during this period. The contract may not be satisfactory and will need to be re-written. Try to get your major business transactions completed by Friday, September 24 ^th in order to avoid confusion and misunderstandings. When Mercury again moves forward on October 18 ^th , it will remain inside its “shadow” until November 3 ^rd . After November 3 ^rd will be the best time to move forward on major projects if you are able to wait until then.

Now let’s take a look at the Virgo Birthday aspects for the year ahead. Every year we look at the aspects that the Sun makes to inner and outer planets to determine the character of the year in advance. If you were born during a period when there were no aspects between your Sun and the planets, you are not being forgotten or left out. This is a year in which you are blessed to experience a purely Virgo year. With an un-aspected Virgo year you are likely to be organizing your fall and winter to be able to accomplish year end business efficiently. Planning is everything, especially during the fall when business picks up and there is so much to get accomplished. Your careful approach to work and relationships is respected by those you know you for any period of time. Keep on keepin’ on Virgos! You’re amazing! This month there are fewer planetary transits and aspects than usual, so I’m able to focus on the exciting phenomenon of the Lions Gate which we experience every year. This year the Lions Gate gives us an added extra bonus of a New Moon on August 8 ^th which signals the start of an exciting creative new beginning! The Lions Gate 8/8 Portal is activated by the numerology of 8/8, the Sun in Leo and the rising of the star, Sirius. This combination of energy opens a galactic portal that allows high vibrational energy to be sent to Earth, which we can all tune in to and connect with.

Each year, the Lions Gate 88 Portal peaks on the 8th day of the 8th month invoking the energy of the double infinity symbol. Regardless of your location on the planet, we will all feel the current of its energy most strongly between Saturday, August 7 ^th through Wednesday, August 11 ^th . This year there will be a New Moon in Leo on Sunday, August 8 ^th at 9:50 a.m. EDT. And this year the helical rise of Sirius on the Eastern horizon will occur August 11 ^th shortly before dawn at about 5:30 a.m. EDT.

The number 8 represents infinity – the infinite soul that we are as individuals and the infinite journey that we are taking together in this life. It represents the “forever conscious” part of our soul; the soul that has lived and will continue to live long after this incarnation. The number 8 is also the number associated with DNA activation, abundance, power, and higher realms of consciousness. This makes 8/8 a super potent time to charge and clear our energy for receiving and giving Love.

The Lions Gate in astrology, involves the Sun in its ruling sign of Leo and the rising of the star Sirius. Author, Walter Cruttenden, in his book, Lost Star of Myth and Time, shows that the fixed royal star Sirius and its companion Sirius B combine to form a binary star which our own Sun and solar system revolve around. Together with Sirius, our Sun and solar system also revolve around the Galactic Center Black Hole. So, in the view of Cruttenden, and other researchers, the star Sirius is “the Sun of our Sun” or as others have called it “our Spiritual Sun.” In esoteric belief systems, our earthly Sun illuminates our physical world, whereas Sirius, our Spiritual Sun, illuminates the true nature of our timeless soul. The ancient Egyptians were very in tune with the star Sirius. They believed it was the gateway to heaven and the home of higher vibrational beings. They believed the energy of Sirius carried highly advanced wisdom that we could tap into and utilize whenever Sirius was prominently placed in the sky, such as at its rising in July in ancient times and now in August.

In Ancient Egypt the heliacal rising of Sirius each year in July, marked the start of the new year. The inundation of the agricultural fields happened as if by clockwork each year (before the building of the Aswan Dam, built between 1960 and 1970.) Before the dam, the rich black silt of the River Nile brought nutrients to the Nile-side agricultural fields. Because the Nile is the only major river in the world that flows south to north, the waters flowed from Lake Victoria and the Ethiopian mountains to fertilize the Egyptian fields. The Ancient Egyptians viewed this yearly flood as a gift of prosperity and fertility which they associated with the Goddess Isis, sister and wife to Osiris, the first pharaoh. It is truly a shame that this beautiful natural cycle has been disrupted.

There are those who believe that the Great Pyramids of Giza act as transmitters, helping to amplify the energy of the royal stars of Sirius in Canis Major, Alnilam in Orion and Deneb in Cygnus in order to allow us to channel and download their messages with greater intensity. The Great Sphinx also aligns with the Leo zodiac during this time of year. This alignment is believed to aid in the receiving of Divine messages from both Isis and Anubis, the Gods connected to Sirius.

The veneration of Sirius by the Ancient Egyptians was not unique. Reverence of Sirius has been found around the world, from the Mayans and Aztecs to the Sumerians, Babylonians, and the Dogon tribe of Mali. In all of these places, there is a tradition of worship of this brightest star in our Galaxy. And while our Sun is responsible for beaming down life for our physical bodies, Sirius is responsible for beaming down life for our spiritual bodies. This is why, at this time each year, the opening of the Lions Gate Portal and the heliacal rise of Sirius (its first appearance in the sky for the year after 70 days below the horizon) brings awakenings and lifts our spirits and our consciousness to new heights.

Here are a few things we can set as an intention to experience under the Lions Gate transit as outlined on the site foreverconscious.com:

Heart healings: the Lionsgate portal activates the Leo-ruled heart chakra. Old or even current wounds of the heart may rise up for healing. We may finally feel free from any grief or sadness that has burdened our hearts.
Third eye awakenings: the Lionsgate portal activates the third eye chakra. We may feel more intuitive or learn something new that helps us understand how our intuition speaks to us. Our intuition is likely to be strong at this time and if this is something we want to work with more, the Lionsgate portal is a great time to begin.
Higher Chakra Openings: while we have seven main chakras or energy centers in our body, we also have hundreds of smaller, chakras that can be activated and awakened during the Lionsgate Portal. This helps us to tap into new wisdom and high spiritual knowledge.
Psychic downloads: with the high vibrational energy from Sirius beaming our way, we are more likely to receive psychic downloads. These can come through our dreams, visions, spirit guides and angels, or through simply hearing things while in a state of relaxation. Meditation and automatic writing are great ways to open to this energy and to receive guidance.
Visitations: the ancients believed that Sirius was home to heaven, angels, and other worldly beings. Under the Lionsgate Portal energy, we are more likely to receive messages, dreams, signs and visits from our loved ones who have passed and from our spirit guides and guardian angels. Encountering alien beings may also be more likely too.
Freedom: one of the strongest vibrations from Sirius is this energy of freedom and revolution. The idea is that our earthly Sun illuminates this physical world, which is an illusion. Peace: Sirius has very peaceful vibrations too, so spending time in nature and meditation is a great way to tap into this peaceful energy and use it for healing and restoring your mind, body, and soul.

Creativity: Lionsgate is also a highly creative time and the perfect opportunity to try a new creative project or to take action on a creative project you have been looking to get off the ground.

On Thursday, August 19 ^th , Uranus will join the Retrograde Outer Planet Party with Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto (that went retrograde in April, May and June.) Uranus will remain in retrograde (slowed motion as compared to the faster motion of the Earth) until January 14 ^th , 2022. During this time, scientific discoveries will be in final stages of completion. A new version of Covid called the Delta Plus Variant, also known as B.1.617.2.1, has led to a tragic increase in cases in India. It has also been widely detected in the U.S., U.K., China, Japan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, and Switzerland. According to the CDC and the World Health Organization (WHO) the Delta strain appears to be more transmissible, better able to attack lung cells, and less responsive to antibodies. As we speak, scientists are feverishly working to come up with a booster or even a new vaccine to combat the new mutations of Covid that are coming out monthly now it seems.

Take a deep breath and let out a sigh of relief! We are now past the first eclipse cycle of 2021. Mercury is direct again and all of the outer planets, except Uranus, are now retrograde (as they usually are) over the summer.

The most notable aspects of the entire month take place in the first three days. On Thursday the 1 ^st, Mars in Leo opposes Saturn in Aquarius. This aspect can make us feel inadequate as authority figures (Saturn) are likely to harshly oppose or criticize our heartfelt projects (Mars.) One positive characteristic of this aspect is that it gives us strong concentration time on projects that require sustained effort. This aspect can bring an important personal project to a culmination since you began it a year ago. If you feel especially irritable between the 29 ^th and July 1 ^st , acknowledge it. Trying to pretend it doesn’t affect you will only cause accidents because of the sublimated energy. On Saturday, July 3 ^rd Mars in Leo makes a challenging square to Uranus in Taurus. With this aspect there is great restlessness and impulsiveness. This is a time when we want to be free of responsibilities and restrictions. If there are any civil rights conflicts that come up this week, there are likely to be major protests as well as attempts at violent retaliation. Mars square Uranus also causes issues with electronics and mechanical equipment. Reboot your computer, send out a new Zoom link, etc., etc., as needed. The positive which can come forward as a result of this aspect is creative change. You may have been denying the need for change in a part of your life that has become intolerable. Now is the time to strike out with something new! The Mars square Uranus aspect will be felt most strongly between the 1 ^st and the 5 ^th of July.

The July 4 ^th weekend features a Moon in Taurus which conjuncts innovator planet Uranus at 12:41 pm EDT on our US Independence Day. The previously mentioned Mars square Uranus aspect takes place at 9:40 p.m. EDT the night before. Hopefully, this important weekend celebration will be safe and enjoyable. Throughout the holiday weekend, the Taurus Moon brings an emotional component to the highly explosive Mars/Uranus conjunction. Be especially careful if you are using fireworks or watching home fireworks displays. It’s advisable to avoid large crowds at airports, train stations and in large public spaces over the 4 ^th of July Weekend.

Uranus the planet of scientific inquiry, of sudden change and of upgrade is now activated by the sign of Taurus the Bull. Since it’s arrival to Taurus, Uranus has been urging us to play whatever part we can in the salvation of our planet’s environment. Innovators such as young Dutchman, Boyan Slat, founder of Ocean Cleanup, have been showing the way to extend human life on earth. On June 18 ^th , 2019 the first Ocean Cleanup mission was launched. To date over 1 million pounds of ocean garbage has been removed from the Great Pacific Garbage Patch with Boyan Slat’s network of floating nets. Beware of a split between what you enjoy doing and a sense of duty to work on Tuesday, July 6 ^th . Venus in Leo wants to extend the July 4 ^th weekend into a week’s vacation. Saturn in Aquarius would have us back at work, problem solving. If you can take vacation time in July you may want to do so over the holiday weekend and through the following week.

The New Moon in Cancer this month takes place on Friday July 9 ^th at 9:17 p.m. EDT. This New Moon makes an encouraging sextile to Uranus in Taurus. Today there is an urge to try something new, to do something different, especially in your home, which is ruled by the Moon. The New Moon in Cancer brings new life and innovation to our home and our family relationships. This is a good day to re-establish rapport with a family member you haven’t spoken to in a while. The Sun in Cancer will oppose mighty Pluto in Capricorn on Saturday, July 17 ^th . Every year since 2008, we have experienced this opposition. The effect of this opposition is to make us feel ambitious for creative change in our lives. This month between July 14 ^th and the 20 ^th our ambitions and desire for creative change reach a culmination. Unlike, earlier this year when we were still under the uncertainty of Covid, we can now feel more capable to make changes that will improve life for ourselves and others. There is potential also for having a difficult face-to-face meeting with a competitor in order to air your grievances. Starting all over again in this relationship is needed to establish a new beginning. Avoid dangerous places with high crime rates this week between the 14 ^th and the 20 ^th , especially at night. As of the month of July this year, we have four of the five outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto) retrograde. Uranus will join the retro-party as of August 20 ^th . When a planet goes retrograde it means that its energy is turned inward instead of outward. Retrogrades encourage introspection, rethinking, and redoing and tend to inhibit a planet’s usual characteristic potential. Because a retrograde planet is retracing its steps through the zodiac, it is reconnecting with degrees it has already crossed over. Thus, a retrograde period brings up issues from the past and opportunities to improve on past actions. An important issue to remember is that not all retrogrades are created equal. We feel the retrograde effects of inner planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) much more intensely than outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto). This is because inner planets affect our daily life issues, while outer planets move much more slowly and have generational effects on our lives over time, more than an individualized effect. With Jupiter retrograde our feelings of abundance and optimism are reduced and there is a characteristic economic downward trend every year in the summer. If you are born between these dates, you may have difficulty expressing yourself. You may feel underappreciated and passed over by authority figures such as bosses and/or parents. Saturn imposes restriction when it opposes the Sun. You can use the tests of Saturn to become more determined than ever to succeed or you can let them ruin your year. The choice is yours. For some Leos the year will also be more difficult due to a square of Uranus in Taurus to your Sun. This year the aspect will affect Leos born between July 29 ^th and August 7 ^th . With a square (or challenge) of Uranus in Taurus to your Sun you are likely to be feeling very restless and impatient with situations in your life. It’s likely you feel a need to buck the system and break the rules. It’s important to be proactive about change this year. Make the changes you feel are really necessary. If you don’t make them yourself, they may be imposed upon you. For example, if your job is making you feel very bored and restless and you feel you should leave it, initiate the change yourself, rather than being laid off for a lack of interest.

The July Moon waxes to full on Friday, July 23 ^rd at 10:37 p.m. EDT. This Full Moon at 2 degrees Aquarius will be sandwiched between Pluto in Capricorn at 26 degrees and Saturn in Aquarius at 11 degrees Aquarius. This Full Moon at 2 degrees Aquarius is also conjunct the Fixed Star Altair (the Eagle). For many of us there is a quality of Altair’s fleeting good fortune today as well as a quality of impulsiveness and the need for a display of courage. With the conjunction to Pluto we are likely to be experiencing overwhelming intense emotions throughout the day. Beware of someone who wants to draw you into drama. A memory of a similar experience in your past can make these emotions all the more intense. This is a good day to have a serious talk with someone whose opinion you value about issues that are bothering you. The heaviness of this Full Moon is compounded by the serious nature of Saturn in such close proximity to the Moon. Emotional events relating to your friends, parents or children are likely to crop up today. Female members of the family may be having problems or may present problems involving you today. Emotional maturity is called for but don’t hesitate to open up to a good friend to vent.

Jupiter had entered the sign of Pisces this year on May 14 ^th after a year in Aquarius. Now it will return to the sign of Aquarius from July 28 ^th to December 29 ^th due to its going retrograde. Whichever sign and house Jupiter is transiting is an area in which we will see a marked increase of activity. In Aquarius, Jupiter brought us a number of exciting scientific discoveries this past year: 3 effective Covid vaccines, a number of effective Covid-fighting drugs, a Mars rover delivered to the red planet, 15 rocket-launched missions by Elon Musk’s SpaceX company and the launch of the James Webb Space Telescope scheduled for October 31 ^st to replace the now defunct Hubble Space Telescope. Civil and gender rights protests have been an important part of the 2020-21 Jupiter in Aquarius landscape as well. Jupiter in Aquarius seeks to increase equality for both the genders and the races as we have seen with the nationwide protests sparked by the death of George Floyd in May of 2020. Through December 29 ^th we will see a return to an increase of these Aquarian themes before Jupiter returns to Pisces from December 30 ^th , 2021 to May 10 ^th , 2022.

Our final aspect of July is Mars’ shift from the outgoing and demonstrative sign of Leo to the more exacting and socially subtle sign of Virgo on Wednesday, July 28 ^th . Just before it makes the shift at 4:32 p.m. EDT, Mars in Leo will make a daredevil opposition from late degrees of Leo to late degrees of Aquarius. Beware of being impulsive today. You may just push the envelope a little too far because you are feeling good. Thinking we can “pull something risky off” and actually doing it are two different things. Be ready to “eat crow” today if you don’t make it happen. Mars in Virgo from July 29 ^th to September 14 ^th will cause us to be detail conscious and motivated to accomplish our goals perfectly the first time we try them. We are especially tough on ourselves and others when mistakes come up during this period. Know this and be kinder to yourself and others. This is an excellent time to finish projects that have been on the back burner over the summer. Go for it!

June is a month of tension with a Solar Eclipse on Thursday, June 10 ^th and the second of two challenging squares of Saturn (planet of discipline and authority) to Uranus (planet of change and equality). Throughout the month, until June 22 ^nd , Mercury is retrograde in Gemini is giving us an opportunity to think over all of the information coming our way.

Venus slips into the home-loving sign of Cancer on Wednesday, June 2 ^nd . It’s time now to spend more time with family and friends at home or near the water whether that’s in the mountains or at the beach. Venus is the planet of love and attraction and as such, she points our attention toward Cancerian interests such as home improvement, decoration, cooking and relaxing in an environment we find private and secure, such as the home. It may be time to take a long weekend getaway and take some “me time” this month. Venus will stay in the sign of Cancer until Sunday, June 27 ^th .

Two very tense planetary aspects surround the Solar Eclipse at 20 degrees Gemini on Thursday, June 10 ^th .

From June 1 ^st to June 11 ^th we will experience the intensity of Mars in Cancer opposing Pluto in Capricorn. This transit can be experienced as a culmination of successful effort OR a time when one feels such strong opposition to what we are trying to do that we experience the need to give up. Energy is high during this transit. There can be severe power struggles taking place now represented by the impetuous energy of Mars countering the established power of Pluto. If you are pushing to get your way with something at work or in relationships, be aware that a major conflict is likely to take place this week. This is a time to make creative and positive changes in your life but beware that you may be prevented from doing so by the powers that be. In the extreme, violence and road rage may break out in the world this week. Avoid crowded places such as airports, train stations and large shopping malls if you can. During the 6 days surrounding the eclipse we will also experience the Sun squaring (or challenging) Neptune. Our energy levels are lower than usual now between June 9 ^th through the 14 ^th . In some cases, we may feel as though we are unable to handle the demands of our everyday routine. Psychologically, we may feel discouraged. Feelings of overwhelm and inadequacy make it hard to keep up with the schedule we’ve set for ourselves. Realizing that everyone is feeling this energy to a certain degree can help to lessen the anxiety. Beware that there may be people who are acting deceptively at this time and avoid engaging in any deceptive tactics yourself. This is a time when you will not have the physical and mental energy to pull it off. Pace yourself and get extra rest now.

The Gemini Solar Eclipse takes place on Thursday, June 10 ^th at 6:53 a.m. EDT. A Solar Eclipse takes place when there is a New Moon that takes place close to the path where the apparent path of the Sun crosses the path of the Moon (from an Earth perspective). A Solar Eclipse brings a surprising event into our lives. It can be positive or negative and it can occur anytime up to two weeks before the actual eclipse or two weeks after it. The Nodes in Gemini and Sagittarius have been bringing information to light as important truths are revealed. One recent example was an apology from BBC television to the royal family of England regarding an interview conducted with Princess Diana that was set up under suspicious circumstances. The interview brought great divisiveness between the princess, her husband and the royal family which led to the royal couple’s divorce and ultimately to Diana having her royal titles and her security removed.

Around the world there were protests in Myanmar concerning a military coup and in Algeria concerning a new government installed there. Suffice it to say, that there is likely to be some kind of major protest energy taking place the week of June 14 ^th through the 20 ^th here in the U.S. On a personal level, our desire for change may feel thwarted by authority figures. Those of us afraid of making changes may try to avoid change but this can cause accident proneness and physical problems, especially with the nervous system. At work there can be the danger that we will quit or perhaps even be fired. Authority figures will seem especially oppressive right now. This week represents a time to clear out elements of our lives that are not working. Changes we don’t make now will come back around again seven years from now when Saturn will be in the same sign as Uranus. Sudden weather events can also be activated by this Saturn Uranus Aspect. During the week of February 17 ^th there were massive power outages in Texas when the coldest winter in ten years, caused the power grid to become overburdened. We may see major weather events the week of June 14 ^th again.

The Sun downshifts from active and outgoing Gemini to relaxing and creature comfort Cancer each year on the Solstice. It’s time to make summer plans for vacation or some weekends away! The Strawberry Full Moon is the name given to the June Full Moon when strawberries begin to ripen. This Full Moon will take place on Thursday, June 24 ^th at 2:40 p.m. Eastern. This Full Moon in Capricorn features an opposition of Venus in Cancer to Pluto in Capricorn. Jealousy and possessiveness can surface today as emotions are made all the more intense by the Full Moon. An attraction to a person or a way of life that we know is not good for us can surface now making us take compulsive action. A greater balance is needed between our work lives and our home lives when we have a Full Moon in Capricorn. This is not an upbeat energy day to say the least. I don’t recommend starting off on a vacation on this Full Moon day but the weekend will be a better time. This is an uncomfortable day. Buckle your seatbelts folks! May features the start of a Mercury Retrograde in Gemini and a Lunar Eclipse! Also Saturn, planet of self-discipline and steady progress will go retrograde this month. Putting these celestial elements in conscious focus, it is time to accomplish most of what we need to get done this month by May 20 ^th , if humanly possible.

Saturn is the planet of self-discipline and responsibility. When starting a new enterprise, it’s always best to have Saturn in direct motion. This allows us to get our work accomplished, step-by-step in a steady progressive way. Because it is an outer planet, and its orbit around the Sun is quite long at 28 years, it is retrograde for a good 5 months on average each year. Saturn will go retrograde this year from May 23 ^rd until October 11 ^th . If you are starting a new business or major project it’s important to initiate the activity before Saturday the 22nd. Wednesday, the 19 ^th would actually be the best cut-off date.

Mother’s Day, Sunday May 9th is likely to be a day to initiate a get-together with the Moon in active Aries. This Sunday would be ideal for taking Mom outdoors to enjoy the day together. As the day progresses, the atmosphere mellows as the Moon moves into luxury-loving Taurus. There is a very pleasant Moon in Taurus sextile (or encouraging) Jupiter at 6:50 p.m. EDT. But contrary to what we might think of transiting squares, this aspect brings very optimistic good feelings and a philosophical outlook on life. With the New Moon in Taurus we can start new home improvement projects, fix up a home to sell it or find a new home to buy. This is also the perfect week to get out and enjoy nature. Gardening projects get a great boost now too. If you want to promote your business, this is the day to do it! Taurus rules finance and things of value. Overall, this is a great time for improving something you want to sell or for making a major deal.

On Thursday, May 13 ^th , Jupiter, planet of abundance and expansion moves out of the manifestational and scientific sign of Aquarius into the compassionate and faithful sign of Pisces. ^. It will take until July 8 ^th for Mercury to emerge from its retrograde “shadow.” During the retrograde in late May and June we will experience the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse on May 26 ^th . And on Thursday, June 10 ^th the second potent Saturn square to Uranus has the potential to bring more potential demonstrations concerning a civil rights issue. These are both potentially disruptive energies and it is best to hold off on important decisions that you have been involved with since May 17 ^th until after Mercury goes direct on June 22 ^nd . If you want to be extra sure you are making the correct decision, wait until after July 8 ^th to feel certain. On July 8 ^th Mercury will return to 25 degrees Gemini, the degree at which it went retrograde on May 29 ^th .

The month of April is time to get started with something new in our lives! As the first sign of the zodiac, represented by the Ram, Aries Spring Fever is in full bloom now in April. The expansion of Covid 19 vaccines is certainly encouraging as is the new administration’s responsiveness in getting the vaccine out. Many of us are now hopeful to have summer travel plans. In the state of Florida, the vaccine will be available to all over the age of 16 by April 15 ^th and many other states follow suit in May.

Communications ruler, Mercury, moves into the ambitious and impulsive sign of Aries on Saturday, April 3 ^rd . Willfulness and a “me first” attitude may cause further racial and gender conflicts and demonstrations in the U.S. this month. Be very careful on the roads throughout this entire month as road rage is likely to rear its ugly head. What Mercury in Aries is really good for is lighting a fire under our projects to get them cooking! This is the time of year where we start to gear up our exercise to be able to fit into a bathing suit this summer. A long spring hike does wonders for the soul after being cooped up all winter. Make some time to go for an extended walk or hike between the 3 ^rd and the 11 ^th .

As much as Mercury in Aries will get us moving this month, Aries’ ruling planet, Mars, will bring discouraging thoughts our way the week of March 5 ^th through the 11 ^th . Mars (currently in Gemini) will square (or challenge) Neptune, our planet of faith (currently in the sign of Pisces.) This equates to a racing “monkey” mind that can cause insomnia and a sluggish metabolism that just can’t get the body going as easily as we want it to. Second guessing recent decisions and feelings of doubt and discouragement come up. Negative consequences of recent actions come front and center in situations we had hoped would just go away. The situation is not as hopeless as it currently appears. This transit happens about every six months, leading us to question our choices of career, relationship, and the direction we are moving in. You may receive very demoralizing messages from others that would cause you to want to give up. Rather than listening to others’ negativity and forcing yourself into doing things that may cause accidents, take a back seat this week and perhaps take a mental health day from work . Avoid excessive physical strain as this aspect causes problems with infections and allergies. Above all, avoid doing something that is deceptive in order to avoid a confrontation. It is likely to backfire on you. This aspect begins to dissipate on the New Moon day of the 11 ^th .

Happy Birthday Taurus! The Taurus Sun rises on Monday, April 19 ^th at 4:33 p.m. From today through May 20 ^th you are in your birthday power period where you can make things happen! Because there will be a square of both Jupiter (planet of expansion and abundance) and Saturn (planet of restriction and self-discipline) to your Sun this year, this is not a year for major expansion at work. Thankfully, Jupiter will already be changing sign very quickly this year to Pisces from May 14 ^th until July 29 ^th , giving Taurus natives a much-needed period of productive positivity. In general however, this year is a “keep your head down” and hope that no one notices you year. Uranus in Taurus will conjunct your Sun will be shaking up the lives of Taurean folks. We must try our best to remain open-minded and not to assume we know best. With the Sun and Mercury square Saturn it’s difficult to communicate with others because of possible misunderstandings. We may be giving a negative impression because we ourselves feel criticized. This can lead to depression and pessimism and a tendency toward feeling lonely and unloved. On this Monday be prepared to receive electrifying news of the world. On this day, the Sun and Uranus in Taurus face off against the Moon in Scorpio. This is the first Super Moon Full Moon of 4 this year. The Full Moon will be at its closest approach (Syzergy) to the Earth from Sunday the 25 ^th through Monday the 26 ^th . Because of its close approach to our planet this Full Moon will appear up to 20% bigger and brighter than a normal Full Moon. Our bodies are 90% water and the gravitational pull this Full Moon will have on our emotions is intense! One view of this potent Super Moon relates to the challenging square it makes to Saturn in Aquarius. This indicates that the views of the many (Saturn in Aquarius) will be expressed loud and clear against the elite (Sun conjunct Uranus.) The Sun/Uranus combination can also indicate major new scientific discoveries involving high-frequency forces of nature used in new and untried ways. This is an aspect of genius. Because this is such a high energy day, I would avoid crowded public places such as airports, train stations, sports arenas or shopping malls. Uranus rules sudden change in the weather as well. Pluto represents the need for powerful and transformative change that is a long time coming. President Biden will hold a virtual climate summit for 40 world nations on April 22 ^nd and 23 ^rd with a goal of capping emissions and reducing the global temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius, or 34.7 degrees Fahrenheit by 2030. President Biden renewed the U.S. commitment to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change on the first day of his presidency.

Pluto the planet ruling the sign of Scorpio will go retrograde the following day on Tuesday the 27 ^th for six months until October 5 ^th . The month of March starts off with a bang!-- Imagine that?! It IS a bit slower in comparison to the break-neck speed of the end of February with the intense Virgo Full Moon of the 27 ^th --BUT still INTENSE! Traditionally, the Sun in Pisces period is a quiet, reflective time before Spring is sprung. This year however, with the Nodes of the Moon in frenetic Gemini and Sagittarius, the Pisces Sun makes a challenging square to the nodes and BAM!-- Intensity rules again. Add to that, the electrical energy of Mercury and Jupiter conjunct in Aquarius on Friday the 5 ^th . This day is especially tough for Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius Sun sign folks. Stressful issues come up first thing this morning and continue through the day. Family and co-workers can’t fathom why you are so stressed either! On Saturday the 6 ^th , the Sun’s square to the Nodes pits our need for peaceful reflection with a non-stop Gemini pace. We are likely to feel conflicted about what we want to do versus feelings of guilty demand. At this time, we need to choose our path with the heart (of the Sun in Pisces) rather than using listening to the the frenetic logistics of the Gemini North Node or the Sagittarian “More is More” philosophy of the South Node today. Instead we need to follow our hearts about what we feel is right for us at the MOMENT. With the Sun in Pisces we could easily be attending a spiritual workshop, getting a massage, fishing or boating, or making it a movie or tv binge-watching day. The choice is ours. I personally will choose the most relaxing options available. Hot herbal bath and binge-watching my fave shows. If we have the energy for writing or art—Spiritual/Creative inspiration is ours for the taking today. Just tune in to the Pisces vibe.

We’ve had more stress in the first two months of this year than in a whole season of most years! The magnetic fields (called the Van Allen Belts) surrounding the Earth are currently waning and we are exposed to an intensified dose of the Sun’s electromagnetic rays. Symptoms of adaptation to a higher dose of electromagnetic rays are: ringing in the ears, dizziness, exhaustion, nausea, headaches, irregular heart beat, shaky hands or legs, chest pain and stomach pain, among others. Naps and early bedtimes are badly needed, in order to combat these symptoms, of which, we may have more than one.

Turning off and unplugging devices when we are not actively using them, including computers, tvs, small appliances and light sources is a consistent way to reduce our exposure. Never keep a cell phone in your bedroom and it’s important to keep the tv out of the bedroom as well. Following a practice of “earthing” helps provide balance. Earthing involves walking barefoot on the earth and/or sitting for 20 minutes on the ground with our shoes off. This can balance our bodies to the natural frequency of Mother Earth. The book Earthing by Clinton Ober, et.al. helps explain the phenomenon and introduces different ways of getting grounded.

The New Moon in Pisces perfects at 5:21 a.m. EST on Saturday, March 13 ^th . On this same day Venus in Pisces conjuncts Neptune in Pisces at 11:08 a.m. EST. What a relief! Today we get to experience the warm, soothing bath of Pisces energy after the “finger stuck-in-socket electricity of the March 6 Sun square the Nodes. A beautiful Pisces Party of Venus, Neptune, the Sun and Moon in the sign of the Fish in the chart of this day, makes for a day of creative loafing, if there ever was one. Are you creating a website or a blog? This Sunday is the perfect day to get it started! Lady Love Venus, also enters the sign of assertive Aries on this Sunday the 21 ^st at 10:16 a.m. EDT. Relationships begun under this influence are literally, “hot to trot.” While they may not last forever, Venus in Aries love affairs go from 0 to 60 in a matter of hours, not days. Meet first time and second time dates in a public place. And practice safe sex whatever you do. Aries impulsiveness is legendary.

A war of words is likely to erupt on Tuesday, March 23 ^rd when Mercury in demure Pisces is squared (or challenged by) Mars in snap-to-it-or-else! Gemini. We can expect some fireworks on Capitol Hill in the U.S. and in our own lives on this day. Don’t say anything you can’t take back or you will live to regret it. On Friday, March 26 ^th the Sun and Venus conduct their annual love affair conjunction at 2:58 a.m. EDT. In the dark of the night, while we are sleeping in the Western Hemisphere, the Sun and Venus conjunct in a passionate Aries kiss. New entrepreneurial projects and businesses are the children of this passionate union. It’s time to strike out and try something new! The Arab Spring in the Middle East will easily be shaken not stirred to action now. We can expect tense moments for President Biden as he will hopefully avoid unilateral action in launching missile attacks against recently aggressive Iran and Iraq forces. Passover begins at sundown on Saturday, March 27 ^th with the waxing Full Moon opposing Neptune in Pisces and again, loosely squaring (or challenging) the Nodes of the Moon, in a way similar to the Full Moon in Virgo on February 27 ^th . This month however the Palm Sunday Full Moon is thankfully delayed until the afternoon of Sunday, March 28 ^th at 2:48 pm EDT. This Full Moon will take place at 9 degrees of Libra. On this day, a harmonious Grand Trine in air signs is formed by the Full Moon in Libra, the North Node in Gemini and Saturn in Aquarius. This is a great day for ideas and plans for the future. With Covid vaccines being rolled out in larger numbers in the U.S. now, is it too self-indulgent to begin to plan a summer trip? Only time will tell--- but it’s worth exploring! Airfares are still at an all time low. Put together your fantasy vacation and make a wish--- with the hope that it may come true. The mood of this day is lighter than many recently. Perhaps some “en-lightening” good news concerning the Mars Rover Perseverance or some other scientific wonder will come our way this weekend?

February brings us the Chinese New Year and a full deck of planets in the sign of Aquarius in the first two weeks of this month. On Monday, February 1 ^st , Venus (the planet of love and attraction) takes up residence for a month in the sign of Aquarius. Love relationships begun under this sign are often based on mental attraction where both parties feel they are “of like mind.” Aquarius-born relationships are unconventional and interested in equality for both parties. A great place to meet your significant someone is online because the planet Uranus rules the sign of Aquarius. With Mercury retrograde, since Saturday January 30 ^th , there can be a slow and somewhat delayed response to love at this time. Your new partner may be very busy at work or may not have received your email so double-check date details before heading out the door.

At the time of the New Moon in Aquarius, on February 11 ^th , there will now be SIX planets in the sign of Aquarius! Let there be no doubt—we have entered the Age of Aquarius! On February 11 ^th the New Moon at 24 degrees Aquarius takes place at 2:06 a.m. EST with Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, the Sun and Moon all conjunct (together) within 4 degrees. These planets can make many of us feel like we stuck our finger in light socket! Life is EXTREMELY busy and we have to stay on our toes from dawn to dusk to keep up with the pace of life. Taurus and Scorpio folks will be especially stressed by the pace and crave an extra hour of sleep. Aquarians are electrified by this collection of planets in their sign. This is the year of the Metal Ox and it directly affects those born in 1927, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009 and 2021. The Ox is strong and patiently plows the fields so that crops, yielding financial abundance, can be planted. During a Metal Ox year we can accomplish what we need to. There are no new major catastrophic events. It is a favorable year for economic recovery and it’s a good year to make long term investments. The family renews its bond of togetherness this year and order is restored to help us feel closer to each other. Family problems have the potential to be resolved with an increase in self-discipline. On Wednesday, January 6 ^th , Three Kings Day, the last quarter Moon perfects at 4:37 a.m. EST. The degree of this Moon is 14 degrees Libra. The Sun on this day is part of a stellium of 5 planets that are progressively conjunct, (connected to each other). Each of these five is only separated by a maximum of 8 degrees (Sun at 17 Cap, Pluto at 25 Cap, Mercury at 27 Cap, Saturn at 3 Aquar & Jupiter at 4 Aquar). In keeping with my firm belief that we are witnessing the start of the 2,158-year Age of Aquarius as of December 21 ^st , 2020, this Last Quarter Moon plays a major role. On this day, 3 very large “stars” are created by all planets conjunct each other (just as we saw December 21 ^st with the Jupiter/Saturn “Solstice Star.” This huge new 5-planet “star” in Cap/Aquarius; the Mars/Uranus Star in Taurus and the Neptune/Asteroid Ceres Star won’t be the only “Star” for the Three Kings to follow to Bethlehem. There are two more!

Mars and Uranus are closely conjunct 0 degrees Taurus and 7 degrees Taurus AND the last “star” Neptune at 19 degrees Pisces conjunct Asteroid Ceres at 14 degrees Pisces. Unfortunately, because of their distance from the Sun and Earth,-- Uranus and Neptune—(included in the latter two stars) are not visible to the naked eye without a telescope.

At the time of Christ’s birth, archeo-astronomers have shown that Mars & Jupiter were conjunct forming a very bright “star” in the sky. Christ was born during the Age of Pisces. Now we have 3 Synchronistic Stars forming at the start of the Age of Aquarius. This feels quite correct as a marker of extraordinary times! In the U.S. in early January, these “stars” will be seen in the Southwestern sky. Knowing that the Kundalini of our planet Earth has recently moved to the border between Peru and Chile in 2013, this New Moon leads us to the current spiritual “navel” of the planet.

The only 3 planets NOT involved in the formation of the 3 stars are Venus, Chiron and the Moon. These three, however, form very close harmonious trines and sextiles to the other 2 January 6th “stars”: Venus in a close trine to the Mars/Uranus Star, the Moon in a close trine to the Five Planet Star and Chiron in a close sextile to the Five Planet Star.

The intuitive astrological message that comes through is : ALL IS CONNECTED, ALL IS ONE.

The Age of Aquarius is one in which we will discover that all humans can learn to live as

“Spiritual beings having a human experience.” Furthermore, All beings, human, animal, plant

and seemingly inanimate, have always been and will always be, capable of Evolution.

The New Moon this month arrives on Wednesday the 13 ^th at 12 am EST. On this date the 3 “stars” of the Last Quarter Moon are still in conjunction. What differs on this date is that the biggest star now includes the New Moon in Capricorn, forming an even larger SIX planet Star. Also on this date Venus, now in Capricorn and Chiron still in Aries are now EXACTLY square to each other at 6 degrees Aries. I will call this first New Moon of the New Aquarian Age, the Three Kings New Moon due to the huge, brilliant star to be formed by the conjunction of the Sun, Moon, Pluto, Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn. While only the last three planets mentioned will be visible to the naked eye on January 13 ^th it is bound to make a very tight pyramid-shaped “star” in the southwestern sky. ---- What times we live in!

Aquarians and many others of us may want to play hooky from work on Tuesday the 19 ^th . This day following Martin Luther King Day, is the first day of the Aquarius Sun Period! Happy Birthday Waterbearers! This is going to be a momentous year for all Aquarians with Jupiter in your sign bringing you expanded horizons and good fortune. Aquarians born between the 19 ^th of January and the 2 ^nd of February will experience a year in which Saturn is conjunct their Sun. This is a sobering year in which you will need to be “on your toes” about everything, especially work and relationships with family authority figures. Aquarian Sun Sign people are natural scientists and data analysts. They believe in equality for all yet can be endowed with very high intelligence that gives them an extra “edge” in life. Natural networkers, they are somewhat of a paradox in that they can be socially shy. Aquarians feel best when sharing their abundance with others.

Wednesday, January 20 ^th is Inauguration Day. A conjunction of Mars to Uranus on this day may cause there to be some kind of un-expected good or bad “accident” involved in the inauguration ceremony. This could be unexpected news such as the release of individual stimulus checks for either the smaller or larger amount. It could also connote some kind of foul up or serendipitous symbol taking place in another part of the world, or locally, on the day of the ceremony itself. The Moon will shift into the sign of Taurus shortly before President Biden is sworn in at approximately 2 p.m. This stabilizing Moon sign in financially abundant Taurus conjunct Mars and Uranus can be seen to symbolize a great potential rebound of the U.S. economy during the next 4 years of this presidential term. The Inauguration Ball on the evening of the 20 ^th will be a sumptuous affair with memorable musical performances, due to the Taurus Moon.

The Full Moon in Leo, a week after the inauguration, on Thursday the 28 ^th will perfect at 2:16 p.m. EST. This Full Moon at 10 degrees Leo will face off exactly with Jupiter conjunct the Sun at 10 degrees Aquarius. Uranus at 7 degrees Taurus conjunct Mars at 10 degrees Taurus will form the Apex of a tight fixed T-square (or double challenge) on this day. Interestingly, the Apex Uranus will be transiting the 11 ^th house of the chart set for Washington, D.C. on this date. This Full Moon can be seen as the installation of the first new president of the New Age. While progressives in the Democratic party do not currently view Biden as progressive enough, their views may eventually change once the president’s agenda is rolled-out. In our own lives we are likely to be feeling a need to break free from outworn parts of our lives that are stifling us. Caution is the watchword of this potentially impetuous and radical time. “Don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater.”

The last major celestial news of this month is Mercury’s move to retrograde motion on Saturday the 30 ^th at 10:52 a.m. EST. If you have major business to take care of this month, get it done on or before Friday the 22 ^nd . We will be firmly in the shadow of the retrograde by the 22 ^nd and communications and transportation, ruled by Mercury, will begin to go awry. This Mercury Retrograde will last about 3 weeks until Saturday, February 20 ^th . Passing through the sign of Aquarius during its slow down period, this Mercury Retrograde is a perfect time to be thinking about how to “work smarter not harder” in 2021 by utilizing various computer programs and applications as well as other time-saving precision machines and instruments. If you have held off buying an income tax software, for example, this period will be the perfect time to research which program to purchase. A major scientific breakthrough is likely to grace our planet once the retrograde period has concluded, specifically on or after March 14 ^th when Mercury will emerge from its retrograde shadow.

2021 SKY PREVIEW

In 2021 there will be no reason for celestially-related catastrophe to return again. Digging ourselves out of the economic crater we have fallen into will be enough work. As I pointed out in my summer 2020 columns, the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in air signs has been shown, over the centuries, to occur just prior to or during, years in which there is a pandemic carried through the air. The 1345 conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn in Aquarius on March 24th was just such an occurrence. The Bubonic Plague spread from China and Africa to Europe and the UK over the years from 1346 to 1351. The current “Great Conjunction” of Jupiter and Saturn will continue through the month of January only. As of February 1 ^st Jupiter and Saturn will be a full 5 degrees apart (Jupiter at 11 degrees Aquarius and Saturn at 6 degrees) and they will no longer appear as a “star” in the southwestern sky.

In 2021 we will experience all three of this year’s Mercury Retrogrades in the air signs of Aquarius, Gemini and Libra. The first will take place from January 30 ^th to February 20 ^th from 26 degrees Aquarius to 11 degrees Aquarius. The second begins on May 29 ^th and ends on June 22 ^nd between 24 degrees Gemini and 16 degrees Gemini. The third is between September 27 ^th and October 18 ^th from 25 degrees Libra and 10 degrees Libra. Communications and computer systems are likely to be interrupted during the first two Mercury retrogrades, in particular. Be sure to back up all of your data before any of the three of this year’s Mercury Retros.

Last year we experienced both a retrograde of planet Venus and a very extended retrograde of planet Mars. The Mars retrograde in the sign of Aries was so long (September 6 ^th to November 14 ^th ) that Mars spent a grand total of 6.25 months in its home sign of the Ram! Part of the “survival energy” we have experienced from March of 2020 to January of 2021 has been magnified and enhanced by Mars in Aries. We hunkered down and stayed with our “pod” of nearest relatives and/or friends. We foraged for food and toilet paper and worked and played while holed-up in our caves. This textbook Aries survivalist energy has served many of us well in keeping us Covid-free. The other characteristic of Mars in Aries retrograde is frustration and anger buried just below the surface. Every time Americans tried to celebrate a holiday in 2020, such as Easter, July 4 ^th or Thanksgiving as in normal times, we experienced a resurging of Covid cases and deaths. This year there will be no Mars retrograde. Our Mars-ruled physical energy will be best put to use in working harder than ever to stage a “come back from Covid.” With the new administration coming into office on January 20 ^th there is likely to be a much more federally coordinated effort to fight the Pandemic.

There is one total Solar Eclipse in the year 2021 and one total Lunar Eclipse. A Solar Eclipse is created at the time of the New Moon when the Sun and the Moon are conjunct AND very close to the North Node of the Moon. A Lunar Eclipse is created at the time of a Full Moon when the Sun and Moon oppose each other and the Moon is very close to the South Node. For the whole of 2021, the Nodes of the Moon will continue in the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius. With the Gemini focus on new ways of being--- we will again be re-arranging the ways in which we live our daily lives. No kidding! Covid has re-arranged many of our lives to be out of work or working from home. Parents have learned how to be school teachers and children have learned how to study and socialize almost exclusively, online.

*On May 26 ^th we will experience a Total Lunar Eclipse at 7:14 a.m. EDT at 6 degrees Sagittarius. This will be seen widely in North and South America, southeast Asia, Australia and many regions in the Pacific, Australia and Antarctica.

*On June 10 ^th we will experience an Annular Solar Eclipse at 6:53 a.m. EDT at 20 degrees Gemini.

* On November 19 ^th we will experience a Partial Lunar Eclipse at 3:57 a.m. EDT at 28 degrees Taurus.

* On December 4 ^th we will experience a Total Solar Eclipse at 2:43 a.m. EST at 13 degrees Sagittarius. This eclipse will be seen widely in southern Australia, southern Africa, southern South America and on the Indian and southern Atlantic oceans.

While there is no need for catastrophe this year, there will be some difficult times, nonetheless.

June appears to be a red-letter month in 2021. In the week preceding the Annular Solar Eclipse Mars in Cancer will oppose (or counter) Pluto in Capricorn on June 5 ^th . In the week after the eclipse the Sun in Gemini will square (or challenge) Neptune in Pisces on the 13 ^th and Saturn will square (or challenge) Uranus on the 14 ^th . Frustrating delays in the total roll-out of the Covid vaccine or the prolonged voracity of the virus will be very trying indeed. This is also likely to be a month in which civil rights protests gain momentum and are featured widely on the news.

Mars will make two tense aspects to outer planets in November preceding the November 19 ^th Lunar Eclipse. On November 10 ^th Mars will square (or challenge) Saturn. On the 17 ^th Mars will oppose (or counter) Uranus. During the month of November, Mars in Scorpio will potentially cause paranoia and potential loss of life and finances. Common sense tells us that November is the month in which we will know whether the Covid vaccines are effective in preventing another winter of dis-ease. Jupiter, our financial abundance indicator, will have turned direct on October 18 ^th on the same day that Mercury goes direct from its retrograde in Libra. If there are still significant Covid cases, this Thanksgiving is likely to find consumer confidence staying low. If so, holiday shoppers are likely to continue to pinch pennies rather than going all-out on Black Friday.

Joe Biden’s understanding that overcoming the virus needs to be our primary national objective for this year is like ly to make him an effective president. I firmly believe we will see quick improvement in our ability to combat the virus by the end of his first 100 days in office. KEEP THE FAITH in Life, in Science and in our Power as a Species to overcome the obstacles that Covid placed in our way in 2020! Life is bound to improve significantly, whether the pace of that improvement seems quick enough in 2021, or not.

Once the influence of the November 30 ^th Lunar Eclipse is past, the first two weeks of December are relatively quiet as compared to the month of the election. The November Lunar Eclipse in Gemini continues to cause many communications mix-ups and disagreements but these are mild compared to the ones pre-eclipse. Mercury moving into the sign of Sagittarius adds fuel to the disagreement bonfire however as of the 1 ^st of December. Mercury in Sagittarius is the voice of religious and political fundamentalism. Many priests and politicians will be climbing up into their pulpits and podiums to broadcast their opinions of how they think the U.S. and the world should operate. This will take place from December 1 ^st to the New Moon Solar Eclipse of Monday the 14 ^th .

The degree of the Solar Eclipse will be 24 degrees Sagittarius at 11:17 a.m. EST on Monday the 14 ^th . This is very close to the degree of the Galactic Center of our Milky Way Galaxy (26 degrees.) If you have an astrology birth chart, locate 24 degrees on the house cusps. The house that the New Moon Solar Eclipse falls into indicates the area in which a surprising event will take place for you between the 1 ^st and the 31 ^st of December. The Galactic Center calls us to experience the ONENESS of our Galaxy despite its trillions upon trillions of separate galaxies. In 1932, Karl Jansky, a Bell Telephone Laboratories engineer, was searching for the source of static affecting overseas telephone lines. To find the source he built the first 95 foot movable radio- telescope to detect it. Part of the static turned out to be created by the center of our Galaxy at 26 degrees of Sagittarius. Astronomers paid little attention to the discovery, but to the astrology of consciousness, this discovery should rank right up there with the discovery of Pluto in 1930. In the late 1960's, astronomers finally honed in on the GC (Galactic Center) with radio and infrared instruments. They were astounded by the immense energies to be found there. On this same day, Monday the 14 ^th , there is a positive aspect between Venus in Scorpio and Jupiter in Capricorn. Today Venus and Jupiter make an encouraging sextile and Mercury in Sagittarius makes a harmonious trine to Mars in Aries. The Venus/Jupiter aspect shows that people are more willing now to follow the rules necessary in order to secure greater health security. Immunizations will be available as of the spring and we have got to make it to March in order to get our vaccines. Therefore, masks in the meantime—in some cities-- will be viewed with less resentment and more compliance. The second aspect forming today, Mercury trine Mars in Sagittarius/Aries, is actually an aspect equivalent to a bucking bronco! The wild Sagittarian Centaur wants to celebrate the Holidays in public. This perceived right will be defended tooth and nail with the vigorous head-butting of the Aries Ram. Personally, I will be avoiding holiday parties this year!

On Tuesday the 15 ^th Venus, the planet of love and attraction will enter the sign of Sagittarius and there will be a strong resurgence of protest to celebrate the holidays in public. Further issues of religious fundamentalism will surface now. One hopes that Iran will not rattle its anti-American sabers too loudly before Joe Biden takes office on Wednesday, January 20 ^th of 2021.

The biggest news of the month is that interpersonal planets, Saturn and Jupiter, will both enter the sign of Aquarius without retrograding back into Capricorn now. Saturn, the planet of self-discipline and integrity, enters the egalitarian and socially conscious sign of Aquarius on Wednesday the17th for two years until March 7 ^th of 2023. Jupiter, planet of expansion and good fortune follows suit on Saturday, December 19 ^th . Jupiter will expand our horizons toward new ways of living in a more technologically upgraded and socially egalitarian way until December 30 ^th , 2021.

The Winter Solstice, the most sacred date of the year, in which hours of day and night are equal, takes place bright and early on Monday the 21 ^st at 5:02 a.m. EST. Today is the day that night begins to yield to longer hours of daylight. Yet, one more extraordinary celestial event takes place today!---------- At 1:21 p.m. EST Jupiter and Saturn will conjunct at 1 degree Aquarius! This is a MOMENTOUS SYNCHRONICITY --that Jupiter and Saturn should join together on the same day as the Winter Solstice takes place. In my personal opinion, this incredibly synchronistic event indicates that we have reached a celestial watershed moment. Cue the soundtrack to the 1967 musical Hair……

This is the dawning of the AGE OF AQUARIUS!!!

We knew it had to start sometime in the 21 ^st Century; it might as well be now with this all-important conjunction of the “Timekeeper Planets” in the same degree of Aquarius. I am dead serious! This is the first day of the 2,158-year “Age of Aquarius.” The symbol of Aquarius, “The Waterbearer” is of a Man pouring the waters of Wisdom out for all to consume. In his kneeling posture to pour the waters, he is humbly pouring the combined wisdom of all the great waterways of the world from one container to be shared by ALL.

As in the Summer of Love in 1967 when the Musical Hair came out, peaceful demonstrations and more violent protests around movements like Black Lives Matter, have been taking place all over the planet since the year 2003 with the Rose Revolution in the Eastern European nation of Georgia. When considered as a whole, the period of 2003-2020 is a slow-moving global movement that counterattacks the Piscean Age principal of the privileged versus the poor, the educated versus the illiterate masses. The Moon will move through the activist sign of Aries on the 21 ^st to a more relaxed and creature-comfort Moon in Taurus at daybreak on Thursday the 24 ^th . Let’s hope that some of the Solar Eclipse New Moon intensity will now be quelled. Christmas Eve Day of the 24 ^th will feature the pacifistic Taurus Moon and it will stay through Saturday the 26 ^th , Boxing Day. The Full Moon at 10:28 p.m. on Tuesday the 29 ^th will occur at 9 degrees Cancer. The asteroid Chiron, the Wounded Healer at 6 degrees Aries will make a potent square to this Full Moon. In Aries, Chiron reminds us that the Wound will not be healed until every state of the U.S. and every nation of the globe has achieved a state of greater freedom and equality for its people. Daylight Savings Time comes to an end on the first day of November, following the rare Blue Full Moon on Halloween day at 10:49 a.m. EDT. This is the second Full Moon in a month and it is unusual also in that at 9 degrees Taurus it is exactly conjunct the planet Uranus. Many are fearful that violence will break out in the few days left before the U.S. presidential election. With Uranus conjunct the Full Moon we need to be cautious. However, we are more in line for an upgrade in the quality of life than for more problems. Uranus relates to sudden change, often followed by an upgrade. This planet rules the sign of Aquarius which is often associated with the future, politics, science, elitism, computers and outer space. We are potentially on the verge of a major upgrade in our politics in which equality of gender and race will become possible on a much wider scale worldwide. Keep Calm and Be Sure to Vote On.

Mercury, the planet of communications goes direct in the sign of Scorpio on November 30 ^th , the very day of the presidential election. The station of any planet to direct motion emphasizes its characteristics. In Scorpio there is likely to be extreme disagreement on the outcome of the election. Due to the Mercury retrograde, one of the candidates may claim victory before all mail-in ballots are counted. Confusion about the voting deadlines in a wide variety of states can potentially cause chaos and protests are likely. It’s ALSO possible we won’t know the ultimate outcome of the election until the 13 ^th and perhaps even the 20 ^th of November. The 20 ^th is the date that Mercury will finally emerge from its retrograde shadow, the degree at which it went retrograde in mid-October. Whatever you do, get your vote in as early as possible and consider dropping off a mail-in ballot to a collection box at your voting precinct headquarters.

On Thursday the 12 ^th we will experience the third of three conjunctions of power planets Jupiter and Pluto. Both in the sign of Capricorn, the Jupiter/Pluto conjunction is increasing the rate of transformation of our world toward a greater acceptance of the Sacred Feminine through the sign of Capricorn. The 10 ^th sign of the zodiac, Capricorn is a feminine sign known for its wisdom and managerial skill. Within the next 30 years there will be more female world leaders and hopefully a woman American president.

Mars in the passionate sign of Aries returns to direct movement on Friday the 13 ^th . In the sign of Capricorn, Jupiter tells us that wisdom and good management of our country will prevail despite this having been an extremely difficult year. In this column in June and July I wrote about the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in air signs as being a once in a hundred years aspect. On the world stage of the U.S. political election, the search is on for a higher sense of Truth. Throughout the Covid period, from March to the present, President Trump has called the scientific findings and advice of Dr. Fauci---“fake news.” As we head into our first full winter under the deadly virus, scientifically proven methods of reducing exposure are proving to be effective. The Lunar Eclipse is all about our trust, or lack of trust of authority figures. Are we following the dictates of a politician—or—does science make more sense? Are we concerned about protecting others as much as ourselves or is Covid another opportunity to show divisiveness, rather than unity?

Ceres, the asteroid which indicates our personal preference for a source of nuturance is also square this Lunar Eclipse. Covid Fatigue is becoming “a thing” now that we’ve been through ten long months of life unusual. It is hard to find a way to relax in ways we are used to. With asteroid Ceres in the sign of Pisces at this Eclipse, Pisces-related activities such as meditation, listening to music, skiing, ice-skating, dancing and binge movie-watching can help us relax. For the next year we will continue to experience the North Node in Gemini opposing the South Node in Sagittarius. With these nodes, Busy has become our collective middle name as we race around getting our work and errands done. The square of s-l-o-w-d-o-w-n Ceres in Pisces temporarily helps us dodge the frenetic pace of life these days. Take advantage of this and take some extra days off around Thanksgiving. October starts off on a dynamic note. Saturn went direct on September 29 ^th . This opened the floodgates for work to move forward again with real traction. The Full Moon at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, October 1 ^st in Aries encourages us to hold our ground for the causes we support, whether in politics, human rights or more personal values. This Full Moon energy can be very exhausting through Saturday the 3rd as the Sun has just sprouted a coronal hole increasing the heat and intensity of life on Earth. This geomagnetic storm is affecting our brains, hearts and nervous systems. It is very important to get extra water and hydration now. Ground yourself by walking barefoot on the grass or by sitting in meditation outdoors for 15 minutes each day through the weekend of the 3 ^rd and 4 ^th . News of Donald Trump’s hospitalization for Corona Virus changes the game of the election significantly under this Full Moon. The Full Moon makes a potent square (or challenge) to Trump’s Saturn (self discipline) and his Venus (basic needs & values) on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, October 1 ^st , 2 ^nd and 3 ^rd .

Mercury goes retrograde on October 13 ^th . Get all important communications work and travel concluded by Saturday the 10 ^th to avoid communications and travel mix-ups and accidents. Mercury will stay retrograde in the sign of Scorpio causing plenty of bad blood competition and paranoia enhanced errors through November 2 ^nd , the day before the presidential election in the U.S. Arghh! Due to mail-in-voting, the results of this election may not be finalized until November 20 ^th when Mercury exits its retrograde shadow.

Whether President Trump will be recovered or not, there is scheduled to be another nationally broadcast presidential debate on October 15 ^th with the last debate scheduled be held on October 22 ^nd . The New Moon in Libra on Friday the 16 ^th encourages us to stand up for justice politically and in civil rights arenas. It encourages us to protest diplomatically and peacefully. This New Moon brings our warning to NOT fall into violence when provoked. Donald Trump will appear to have recovered enough to continue the election campaign. This may not be true however and he may relapse into illness anytime before November 3 ^rd .

Tension surrounding the U.S. presidential election mounts on Sunday the 18 ^th when the Sun in late degrees of Libra makes a challenging square to Saturn (planet of restriction and self-discipline) in Capricorn. This square indicates we must follow the letter of constitutional law regarding the line of succession. If Donald Trump is not well enough to campaign for president then Pence will take over. The election cannot be delayed. Some would say that Trump is getting his come-uppance for not delaying the replacement of Supreme Court judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg until after the election as these appointments have been diplomatically delayed before. Donald Trump has a North Nodal Return (taking place once every 18.5 years) just before election day, indicating a time when he is either fulfilling his Soul’s Mission, or paying the price for not working toward it.

Yet another intense planetary aspect takes place on Monday 19 ^th when motivation planet Mars in the sign of Aries makes a challenging square to transiting Jupiter in Capricorn. This Mars in martial Aries also makes a challenging square to Donald Trump’s Venus and Saturn in Cancer on one side of the chart. On the other side, Mars makes a challenging square to transiting Jupiter in Capricorn. Thus, what we call a “T-square” is formed with Mars as the Apex in Donald Trump’s 8 ^th house. This is the house that rules life issues of life and death, taxes and inheritance as well as management of the property and resources of others. This does not bode well for Trump’s recovery from Covid and his heart health, at this time, nor for his career in the upcoming year. His own resources may be being mismanaged and he feels as though he is being brutally attacked under this transit.

The Sun moves into Scorpio on Thursday the 22 ^nd at 7 p.m. EDT. The pressure is really ON with the election now. Joe Biden is a Scorpio Sun Sign native. He is just beginning his month of strength with the Sun in his sign. Scorpios are the most loyal friend one can have. Dedicated to family and personal values they will fight to the death to uphold the principles they believe in. Scorpio Sun sign folks will enjoy the beginning of one more year with Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto all in an encouraging sextile formation to their Sun. This sextile between Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn and their Sun in Scorpio gives them strength and re-doubled determination to accomplish whatever it is they want to this year. The amount of effort expended by Scorpios this year will be equal to the number of positive results achieved by Scorpios. If Joe Biden stays true to his political, religious and family values he may just find himself the winner in this presidential battle. The stars are aligned in a potentially promising way for him to win in 2020. We shall see!

The Full Moon in Taurus on Halloween night of Saturday the 31 ^st is likely to usher in a very unstable and surprising turn of events. The Full Moon at 9 degrees Taurus will be EXACTLY conjunct Uranus in Taurus. This Full Moon waxes at 10:49 a.m. EDT and the collective mood is very stubborn and could turn violent. Stay home rather than taking your chances on a party this Saturday. The political opposition frenzy amongst voters can reach real heights tonight. Please avoid crowded bars and transport stations and airports. Prayer and meditation this weekend are strongly recommended. We must keep ourselves grounded in the final days of this election. It is important we stand down from violently opposing the views of others. Try to get out into nature this weekend. Find a place where silence drowns out the cacophony of disagreement in our country at this time.

Financial markets may be adversely affected by the Moon/Uranus conjunction on Friday the 30 ^th . Wait until the outcome of the election before panicking and taking your money out of the markets. This large-scale national disturbance will eventually come to an end. Stay the course and we shall hopefully discover the outcome on Tuesday the 3 ^rd . Due to the popularity of vote-by-mail in this election, the winner of the presidency could be delayed until Mars goes direct on Friday, November 13 ^th . It could also take as long as the following Friday the 20 ^th to be decided. The 20 ^th is the day that the Mercury retrograde of October will finally emerge from its “shadow.”

This month starts out with a potent Full Moon on the early morning of Wednesday, September 2 ^nd at 11 degrees Pisces. The Full Moon culminates at 1:22 a.m. EDT so the whole first day of September is building up to this energy. A Full Moon in Pisces allows us to measure the difference between how we have faith in life versus how we pick it apart in the details. Piscean faith does not know how a situation will resolve itself but allows a situation to play out however it needs to. During these very difficult times it can be hard to have faith in the future. So many of us have lost our jobs or are learning to live with less. Parents and students alike are unsure about “soldiering on” to attend work and school in potentially unsafe circumstances. Recently we’ve learned that 70,000 lives can saved in the U.S. if we all consent to wear masks. I believe this Pisces Moon making a sextile to Uranus in Taurus is telling us much the same thing. In order to intelligently safeguard our resources (Uranus in Taurus) we need to learn to all participate as a community (Uranus) in methods that contribute to the common good (Pisces.) The result can be very positive IF we follow safe practices in our communities. At the same time as we experience this encouraging and uplifting aspect we also experience a standoff at this Full Moon. Venus in home-loving Cancer opposes the uber-professional trio of Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn. Part of us is yearning to get to work and experience success and abundance (Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in workaholic Capricorn.) Part of us wants to just curl up at home with a good book and a pot of soup and relax (Venus in Cancer.) Finding a balance between work and home can be hard to come by this week!

Thank Heaven for Labor Day weekend! Time to relax is on it’s way. Saturday the the 5 ^th is a tough day for communications with Mercury (planet of communications) entering Libra at 3:46 p.m. EDT and making 3 squares to the workaholic trio of Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn, in turn. The best thing one can do, is to try to accomplish any work that needs to be done before 4 p.m. EST. Then let it all GO and do something enjoyable! Tonight’s social Mercury in Libra and rebellious Aries Moon will demand it! The Moon moves into the luxury-loving sign of Taurus at 4:43 a.m. on Sunday the 6 ^th . Time to get out the bbq grill and enjoy some good times with your quarantine-mates! The energy of this holiday weekend is best on Labor Day Monday itself with the Moon making many harmonious aspects to Uranus, the Sun, Jupiter and Neptune.

The Red Planet (Mars) goes retrograde at 28 degrees Aries on Wednesday, September 9 ^th . Due to it’s retrograde this year, Mars will spend a full five months in its own sign of Aries. Motivation, aggression, and directly expressed anger are all expressions of Mars in Aries. Many of us harbor resentment against the government on a local and national level for not handling the Covid Crisis better. Others of us feel outright anger against racial inequality and the inequity of medical treatment for communities of color in terms of employment and healthcare during this crisis. Still others of us are angered by manipulation in our jobs where we are forced to risk our health in exchange for keeping our livelihood. How can any of this be resolved?!! There is a LOT to be angry about it and this year is the time to express it. Mars entered its home sign of Aries on June 29 ^th just as many protests across the country reached their boiling points. Mars goes retrograde on September 9 ^th and returns to direct movement on Saturday, November 14 ^th . It’s important to know however that Mars will not emerge from 28 degrees Aries (the degree at which it went retrograde known as its “Retrograde Shadow”) until January 3 ^rd, Due to its staycation in Aries in September, October and November, Mars will not exit the sign of Aries until Thursday, January 7 ^th . This period between September 9 ^th and November 14 ^th gives us a chance to brood over those who have done us wrong and how we will either distance ourselves from them or potentially get revenge. In my book, living a successful and happy life is the best revenge. As many times as I’ve wanted to slash someone’s tires or “let them have it” in public I have, instead, turned on my heel and walked away, leaving them to stew. We all have our own ways of dealing with anger. What I’m suggesting is that you take time to really FEEL yours during this two-month period and then TAKE ACTION on it after November 14 ^th for best effect.

The good news this month is that Jupiter goes direct on Saturday, September 12 ^th . Jupiter is our planet of abundance and expansion. Retrograde since May 14 ^th for a full four months, our good luck planet has certainly been absent as many of us have faced job loss, loss of benefits, loss of relatives and friends to the virus and loss of optimism about the future. Jupiter went retrograde at 28 degrees Capricorn on May 14 ^th and will emerge from its Retrograde Shadow at 28 degrees Capricorn on December 7 ^th . For many, the prospect of a democrat in the White House again gives something to hope for. Voting by mail may be the safest way to avoid fraud at the polls. Voting by mail may also delay the outcome of the U.S. Presidential Election for up to a month. With the dismantling of the U.S. Postal Service being carried out behind the scenes under orders from the Postmaster General, “the earlier the better” is the time to mail your ballot. Mail in many locations is already being delayed by weeks. Between September 12 ^th and December 7 ^th some will experience a renewed sense of cautious optimism in the nomination of the democratic presidential ticket. Joe Biden and Kamala Harris make a formidable affront to the Trump/Pence ticket.

September 29 ^th at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio

October 15 ^th at Arsht Center For the Performing Arts in Miami, Florida

October 22 ^nd at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee

The vice presidential debate will be held on October 7 ^th at the Univ of Utah in Salt Lake, Utah.

The practical and analytical Virgo Sun will make three harmonious trines to the outer planets in Capricorn this month: 1) A day of good results for hard work with a lucky twist is experienced by Earth and water sign natives on Wednesday, September 9 ^th when the Sun makes a harmonious trine to Jupiter at noon. 2)Earth and water sign natives, Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn and Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces will feel they are “in the zone” of effective good work and progress on important projects on Monday, September 14 ^th when the Sun in Virgo trines Pluto at 7:09 p.m. EDT. The first is a challenging square to both the North Node and South Node of the Moon which are currently located at 24 degrees Gemini and Sagittarius. This is the first Sun square to the Nodes of their 18-month journey through these signs. A New Moon indicates new energy is being birthed. With the nodes in Gemini and Sagittarius we are likely to experience a challenge between what we know and what we realize we don’t know. Practical knowledge versus philosophical knowledge is spotlighted now. A mutable square is often seen at times when a surge of religious or philosophical fundamentalism causes major military clashes, outbreaks of war and protests. This New Moon at 25 degrees Virgo also opposes transiting Neptune now located at 20 degrees Pisces. Disillusionment (Pisces) and biting analytical insults (Virgo) are likely to fly now between the U.S. presidential candidates as well as in our personal lives. Don’t let yourself be caught up in negativity and fear-mongering at this time. Hold the faith, not just for yourself but for your family, friends and colleagues. This has been a time of unprecedented catastrophe worldwide. This too shall pass. We SHALL overcome!

Ahh! The Sun dives headfirst into the justice-seeking winds of Libra on Tuesday the 22 ^nd at 9:31 a.m. EDT. This Autumnal Equinox has very dynamic energy with a truth-seeking Moon in Sagittarius. Celebrate the Autumnal Equinox in all its glory this morning as you awake. Sit in meditation on the change of seasons and send out some prayers for those who need assistance now. Despite the activist energy of this day, don’t forget to set some creative goals for the fall. What self-centering project can you do this fall, solo or in a group of people of like mind? Would cleaning up a stream give you satisfaction? Would creating a work of art or attending a gallery showing or performance light your creative fire? The Sun will reign in the beautiful, peace making sign of Libra from September 22 ^nd to October 21 ^st this year. Libra Sun sign folks are the diplomats of the planet. Mercury shifts from Libra to Scorpio on Sunday the 27 ^th. Mercury in Scorpio will be dredging up some major secrets held by the U.S. presidential candidates until November 10 ^th , one week after Election Day. A Mercury Retrograde from October 14 ^th to November 3 ^rd (the very day of the Election) will serve to create high drama at every turn. We couldn’t ask for a more nail-biting, high stakes election environment!

Finally, taskmaster Saturn (planet of time measurement and self-discipline) returns to direct movement on Tuesday the 29 ^th at 1:11 a.m. EDT. Saturn has been retrograde since May 11 ^th at 2 degrees Aquarius--a full 4 and a half months. When Saturn goes direct the “ball gets rolling.” If you have been hesitant to pull the trigger on a major purchase or the establishing of a business, consider that a favorable time to do so is now within sight. There are two basic themes to celestial aspects and ingresses this month. Firstly, Mars in Aries will progressively square Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn on August 4th, August 13th and August 24 respectively this month. The months of September/October and December/January will bring a second and third round of these major faceoffs between Mars and the Troublesome Trio in task-master Capricorn. The second major celestial theme this month is that as of Saturday, August 15th ALL of our outer planets and asteroids: Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron, Neptune, Pluto and--- NOW Uranus-- will be simultaneously Retrograde until September 12th.

We start off the month with a Full Moon at 12 degrees Aquarius at 11:59 a.m. EDT on Monday, August 3rd. On this day, the Moon in Aquarius opposes the Sun in Leo. This Moon also squares Uranus at 12 degrees Taurus causing a very reactive and potentially angry T-square. This T-square can make us lash out at perceived verbal attacks and causes a very stubborn and independent streak in just about everyone. Avoid the tendency to be reactive on the weekend prior to August 3rd through Tuesday, August 4th. During this Full Moon, Venus in Gemini also conjuncts the North Node of the Moon in the sign of the scribe and the writer. Now is a time to reach out to those who need to feel your love—even if it’s a cyber hug! Mercury rules all forms of communication from cards & letters to phone calls, texting and email so it doesn’t matter how you connect-- just DO IT! You are likely to find yourself immersed in interesting studies or research at this time now too. It’s worth burning a bit of midnight oil to zoom in on the inspirations that come your way now.

On Tuesday, August 4th Mars will square Jupiter at 9:07 a.m. EDT. This challenge between Mars, planet of action and passion and Jupiter, planet of expansion and optimism may cause us to go overboard with physical activities. Beware that you don’t over-do it or you will find yourself exhausted for the rest of the week. Especially if you are moving house, doing a home repair or remodel or gardening project. You will need to stay hydrated and get to bed a bit earlier. The total period of this square will be August 1st to the 5th.

August 8th is the day of “the Lion’s Gate.” In ancient Egypt this was one of two days in the year in which the pharaoh, symbolized by the god Osiris, could return to his home in the stars. Each year our Sun aligns with the binary star system of Sirius before its helical rise in the Northern Hemisphere during the Leo Sun sign period between August 11th and the 16th. On Saturday, August 8th, Sirius and our Sun will be conjunct with Sirius hidden behind the Sun as our Sun rises. By August 11th in Florida and the southern states of the U.S. and By August 16th in Maryland and the north eastern states, Sirius will be visible rising before the Sun in the Eastern Sky. Looking toward the East you will see Orion rise first about 45 minutes before dawn, followed by the bright often rainbow colors of Sirius directly south of the 3 stars of Orion’s belt. On the west coast, the heliacal rise will be visible as of the 18th of August on the eastern horizon about 45 minutes before dawn. Across the U.S. the prime days for seeing this yearly phenomenon are August 16th through the 22nd. On the picture below you will see the 3 stars of Orion’s belt between the U and the S of the word Betelgeuse. The other day during the year when the pharaoh could astral-travel to his home in the stars was when the Sun was conjunct Fomalhaut, in Leo’s opposite constellation of Aquarius in ancient times around 2500 B.C. This special alignment occurred this year on February 5th, 2020.

The next Mars square takes place between Monday, August 10th and Saturday the 15th when motivator Mars goes up against mighty Pluto. This is a time of potentially transformative power struggles. Our ambitions are at a high point now. With a strong determination to get ahead we may wind up stepping on toes with every step. Avoid the temptation to “bulldoze” the competition in your push to make progress at work or at home. You may be “cruising for a bruising,” as they say. There is also a possibility that you will find yourself the victim of someone else’s ruthlessness now. Avoid people that push your buttons this week whenever possible.

As of Saturday the 15th, Uranus, the planet of innovation and revolution, goes retrograde to join the five other outer planets and asteroids that are currently in “slow-down mode” as compared to their regular rate of orbit. Every time a planet goes retrograde it’s archetypal energy is dialed-up for several days. With Uranus going retrograde the period of Thursday, August 13th through the New Moon of Wednesday the 18th is likely to be a time of inspiration and discovery as well as irritation and chaos. It’s important to ground ourselves during this part of the month. Take time to walk on the grass barefoot. Sit in a tree with a book or just observing the sky. Lay at the edge of the surf on a beach. The more you allow yourself to ground with the earth and the elements the better you will fare during this difficult week. Uranus goes retrograde at 10 degrees 41 minutes degrees Taurus until January 14th of 2021 when it goes direct at 7 degrees Taurus. The process of the retrograde will be complete once Uranus returns to 10 degrees 41 minutes Taurus on May 1st of 2021. Uranus is the planet of reform that leads to the breakdown of old outworn structures in politics and economics. It is also involved in the formation of new paradigms that serve our times more effectively. It’s time for us to “birth” the Age of Aquarius for ourselves now through our protests and demonstrations. Uranus will go direct again in January of 2021 just a few days before the inauguration of our new president and--- if we are truly to move forward--- our first female vice president in the history of the United States. While Uranus is retrograde it is important to think of ways to work smarter not harder. Career and job changes are likely for many between now and May 1st when Uranus will return to the degree at which it goes retrograde on August 15th.

The New Moon of Tuesday the 18th takes place at 10:42 p.m. EDT at 27 degrees Leo. This special New Moon is very close to being conjunct to the royal fixed star of Regulus “The Heart of the Lion,” in the constellation of Leo. This New Moon is conjunct Mercury at 29 degrees Leo-- the exact traditional degree of the royal fixed star Regulus. It also makes a close trine (or harmony) to the South Node in fellow fire sign Sagittarius at 29 degrees Leo. This August is a very special time to experience the energy of the Heart of the Lion because of these conjunctions to the South Node of the Moon and to Mercury. It is time to access the Wisdom of the Heart which informs us of our true inner inspirations. This evening it is time to access these through meditation. On Wednesday, August 19th, Mercury the planet of communications and transportation moves into the Mercury-ruled sign of Virgo. Fears come forward strongly at this time as we try to accomplish our daily work. Disapproval by higher-ups is often the cause of this issue. Authority figures such as bosses and parents may be discouraging of our work now. It’s best not to try to initiate anything new under this transit. Find some work that you can focus on solo for now. Because Mars is squaring Saturn which rules the bones, beware of accidents that can cause broken bones. Avoid ladders and walking on uneven ground. The last five days of this month will provide a much more conducive mood for innovation. With the three Mars squares past our tempers should simmer down and we can be civil to each other again.

On this very early 2020 morning, at 12:44 a.m. EDT, the Sun will be at 13 degrees Cancer and the Full Moon will be waxing to 13 degrees Capricorn. The significance of a Lunar Eclipse on this date is two-fold. First, this is an eclipse on the United States’ EXACT Sun degree. Our country was born on July 4th at 5:10 p.m. with the first signature on the Declaration of Independence by John Hancock. To have a Lunar Eclipse with the Sun and Mercury Retrograde BOTH in the very emotion-centered sign of Cancer at the exact degree of our country’s Sun makes this a hyper-emotional day for everyone around the globe, but especially those of us in the United States or born in the U.S. When we place the July 5th Lunar Eclipse at 12:44 p.m. EDT on the U.S. Sibly chart calculated for July 4, 1776 at 5:10 p.m. the zodiac houses impacted are the 7th (where our country’s Sun is placed in its birth chart) and the 1st house where the Capricorn Moon will lie. This fertilization of the land re-enacts the fertilization of Isis with the seed of her dead but resurrected brother/husband Osiris to produce their heir, the Falcon God of Healing, Horus. The Founding fathers of the United States, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson were Masons. It has been widely documented that they selected the birthday of the United States to reflect the fertile fields and metaphysical resurrectional power of the ancient Egyptian myth of Isis and Osiris. The founding fathers wanted our largely agricultural early nation to be fertile above all. In this day and age the definition of our nation’s fertility and therein success has just as much to do with its economic GDP via electronic products and software that we produce as it does with its agricultural yield. The significance of the Capricorn energy is that of the archetype of “The Good Father.” In the sign of Capricorn, positive human behavior characteristics are found of: integrity, hard work, good management, leading by example and positive social standing in society. The Good Father archetype is being contested in the U.S. presidential election as we speak. One candidate leads by example and wears a mask, the other does not. One candidate avoids congregating with more than 8 people at a time, the other recently tried to assemble 50,00 together for an indoor rally in Oklahoma. A Full Moon brings a culmination of energy as the Sun and Moon square off against each other. The 13th degree of Capricorn makes significant aspects to the charts of both candidates. This Eclipse takes place just as news erupts about Donald Trump having been briefed on February 27th of the bounties placed by the Soviet government on the heads of American Soldiers in Afghanistan---and DOING NOTHING ABOUT IT. This is the second alleged instance of treason on the part of the president of the United States along with his alleged collusion with the Soviets to influence the outcome of the 2016 presidential election. Are these acts committed by “The Good Father” of our nation?! I think not!

On the day of the Lunar Eclipse Trump has no fewer than 3 major crisis aspects to his natal chart. Uranus (planet of sudden change) in the sign of Taurus makes a potent square (or challenge) to Trump’s natal Pluto (planet of death & transformation) in Leo. The purpose of this aspect is to sweep away old outworn structures in our lives that have built up over the last 7 years. A total revolution is soon to take place in the life of Donald Trump where change is likely to be forced upon him regarding the Plutonian acts and subversive forces he has been mobilizing behind the scenes. Uranus serves as a trigger to destroy the public status of the president at this time. There are no more of his characteristic “lucky breaks” in his upcoming transits before the November 3rd election. On July 5th, transiting Saturn will make a very close opposition (karmic balancing) to Trump’s natal Saturn. Fourteen years ago Saturn had made its second return thus clearing the karmic slate to new beginnings. Then seven years ago, Saturn made its first square or challenge to Trump’s natal Saturn in 2013. Today, at the opposition of transiting Saturn to natal Saturn (between July and December 2020) old failures that were not handled well in 2013 are likely to make life very difficult for Trump. Oftentimes, under this transit the efforts of the person with coworkers and supervisors will be blocked and opposed. On June 3rd, After long refusing to explicitly criticize a sitting president, former Defense Secretary, Jim Mattis, accused President Trump of trying to divide America and sternly denounced Trump’s threat of militarization of the U.S. police force and military in response to civil unrest during the Black Lives Matter protests in cities nationwide. On June 23rd, former National Security Advisor to President Trump, John Bolton, published his Trump-damning memoir The Room Where It Happened: A White House Memoir in which he exposes Trump’s request of Ukrainian President Zelensky to investigate Joe Biden and the activities of his son Beau. And on June 30th, sources at the New York Times confirmed that President Trump was briefed on February 27th of Russian offers of bounties to Taliban fighters on the heads of U.S. soldiers fighting in Afghanistan. Nationwide polls taken in late June show that Biden leads Trump by 12 percentage points, 53%-41%. In a three-way ballot test, including a third-party line, Biden leads the Republican incumbent by 9 points: 46%-37%. Trump’s final difficult transit at the July 5th Lunar Eclipse is that Mars (planet of motivation and aggression) at 4 degrees Aries makes a tight challenging square to Trump’s natal Mercury (planet of communications.) It would not be surprising at all for Trump to erupt into a furious tweet or twenty over the 4th of July weekend. As described by numerous news sources, Trump is his “own worst enemy” when he erupts into ill-considered, self-defensive tweets and flippant press briefing comments.

Because of their similarity in age, Biden aged 77, born November 2nd of 1942 and Trump, aged 74, born June 14, 1946, will both experience an opposition of Mars to natal Neptune in Libra at the time of the July 5th Lunar Eclipse. But whereas the transit is still waxing (building or not yet exact) for Trump, it is waning (or past) for Biden. This means that Trump will experience more of the difficulty of the transit whereas Biden has already been through it. With Mars opposing Neptune, physical energy (Mars) is debilitated (Neptune.) Trump is likely to feel it is difficult to mobilize himself to do anything very energetic at this time. Contrary to this celestial guidance, he has planned a visit to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota and a huge fireworks display on the evening of July 4th on the National Mall in DC for over 300,000 people with a military fly-over planned which will bring even more spectators. And none will be required to wear masks--although they will be given away! Despite the difficult transits for Trump during the month of July, Biden will experience some favorable transits including a favorable trine of the transiting Sun (inner radiance) to his natal Mars (energy & motivation). Biden is just warming up to his campaign at this time! Biden’s Venus has just entered the 7th house of the public as of April 7th as well. This will give him increasing popularity with the public as the next four months unfold. I expect Biden to have a progressively more and more successful campaign in the next four months until the election on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Other major celestial events of July 2020 are the July 3rd move of Saturn in Aquarius (which began March 21st) BACK into Capricorn until December 18th when Saturn returns to the sign of the Waterbearer. Saturn (the planet of self-discipline and hard work) went retrograde on May 11th. This is our last round with Saturn in the sign of conservative, status-quo preserving Capricorn. Almost immediately after Saturn changed signs into equality conscious Aquarius and it went retrograde, the public lynching and murder of George Floyd took place on May 25th in Minneapolis, Minnesota. No longer were Americans of almost all ages, genders, races and walks of life able to tolerate the casual wasting of a life through police brutality. Now we are given our final opportunity to learn the lessons of Saturn in Capricorn and the maintenance of a carefully stratified society with leaders that maintain and enforce that code. If we are all doing our Saturn due diligence between now and December, we will think about the ways in which we take privilege for granted. How we, perhaps inadvertently, take advantage of those we consider to be “less than” us. In the Age of Aquarius, a period lasting 2,160 years, humanity is given the opportunity to evolve into a more egalitarian society. Whether we will reach that goalis is iffy given our history of “survival of the fittest.”

On Sunday, July 12th, Mercury (planet of communications and transport) will go direct after 3 weeks in retrograde since June 18th. During this period, Mercury backtracked through mid degrees of the emotional sign of Cancer. Feelings of lack of security weighed heavily upon us during the midst of the first onslaught of Covid 19 and the Black Lives Matter protests. It was truly a testimony to compassion that peaceful protesters took time from their already difficult pandemic lives to join the movement. As of July 27th, Mercury will emerge from its retrograde shadow (the degree at which it went retrograde on June 18th.) While some aspects of life will return to the “new normal.” A lingering adjustment period will fill the gap between July 12th and the 27th. Let’s put it to good use. If you have contracts to sign, it is best to wait and do further research until Thursday, July 16. If you charge ahead you risk additional buyer’s remorse of some kind whether you are a buyer or a seller. Allow Mercury to settle back into its direct movement.

The New Moon on Monday the 20th perfects at 1:33 p.m. EDT at 19 degrees of Cancer. A New Moon brings new energy our way once every month. Unfortunately, this New Moon is opposed by the trifecta of outer planets in the sign of Capricorn. Jupiter and Pluto are newly rejoined in Capricorn by Saturn in its retrograde journey. Cancer is the energy of the Universal Mother. When we think about the nurturing sign of Cancer, we are mostly considering the nurturance we can provide to others. This is even more important during these times when wearing a mask can prevent vulnerable elders and those with health concerns to contract the virus. A New Moon in Cancer can also inspire people around the world to feed the hungry and to extend the badly needed eviction moratorium until August for those who have lost work and careers. I do feel concerned that an additional incidence of police brutality near the date of this New Moon that will bring about further widespread protests. But these are needed--- So bring it on.

Happy Birthday Leo! The Sun roars into your sign before dawn at 4:37 a.m. EDT with an equally vibrant Moon in Leo, just one day after the New Moon, on July 21st. Leo Sun Sign folks radiate the qualities of leadership, confidence and heart-centered love and kindness. They have a soft spot in their hearts for their children and love nothing more than a romance. Showering their “certain someone” with gifts and exciting dates comes naturally to Leos. It is also essential to show Leos appreciation in return! When a planet goes retrograde it means that its energy is turned inward instead of outward. Retrogrades encourage introspection, rethinking, and redoing and tend to inhibit a planet’s usual characteristic potential. Because a retrograde planet is retracing its steps through the zodiac, it is reconnecting with degrees it has already crossed over. Thus, a retrograde period brings up issues from the past. An important issue to remember is that not all retrogrades are created equal. We feel the retrograde effects of inner planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) much more intensely than outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto). This is because inner planets affect our daily life issues, while outer planets move much more slowly and have generational effects on our lives over time. With Jupiter retrograde our feelings of abundance and optimism are reduced and there is a characteristic economic down trend during a presidential election year. With Saturn retrograde our self-discipline and organizational abilities are reduced. Finally, with Pluto retrograde, longer term trends in one’s life that require transformation to take place are slowed. This is a time in which major changes should be thought over carefully, rather than taken quickly. With all of the societal changes coming about through Covid 19, our changes in work and family dynamics, the presidential election and with the protests concerning racial and gender equality---- there is a LOT to consider with this lineup of retrogrades! The outer planets, except latecomer Uranus, will all return to direct movement by December 1st.

The first Eclipse Season of 2020 starts with a violent bang. The nationwide protests against police brutality cropped up and grew from Memorial Day Monday the 25th when George Floyd died in Minneapolis. Now in their second week, the protests are likely to continue through the Lunar Eclipse of Friday, June 5th despite curfews established in 37 cities across 22 states.

A Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Sagittarius can indicate religious or philosophical extremism. At the time of the June 5th Lunar Eclipse there are many planetary transits that fan the flames of these protests. At 14 degrees Sagittarius, this Lunar Eclipse falls firmly in the 1st house of the U.S. “Sibly” birth chart calculated for 5:10 p.m. on July 4th, 1776 when the Declaration of Independence received its first signature. A Lunar Eclipse in the 1st house signifies being unable to constrain our emotions. Events move very quickly and many things are “said and done” before we even have a chance to realize what is happening.

This June and July we will actually experience two consecutive Lunar Eclipses. The first takes place on June 5th and the second on July 5th with one Solar Eclipse between them on June 21st. Lunar Eclipses take place at Full Moons when the Sun and Moon oppose each other. As “Full” Moon Eclipses they begin a new 6-month cycle until the arrival of the next Lunar Eclipse (this year on November 30th). But because we have two Lunar Eclipses this June and July the effect of the first one will be shorter lived, lasting about a month until the July Lunar Eclipse which will have the 6-month effect until November 30th. Now that the nodes of the Moon have moved into the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius, both solar and lunar eclipses will occur in the signs of Gemini and Sagittarius for the next 18 months. As I mentioned in my column in May, both the 911 and the Corona Virus disasters took place with the nodes in security-conscious Cancer and Capricorn and it is with the nodes in Gemini and Sagittarius that the communications-centered and philosophically-oriented nodal period that solutions to the Cancer/Capricorn issues are found.

June’s Lunar Eclipse on the 5th takes place on Friday the 5th at 3:12 p.m. EDT. The degree of this Lunar Eclipse is 14 degrees Sagittarius. From Thursday, June 4th through Saturday, June 6th The Lunar Eclipse Full Moon will oppose Venus at 13 degrees of Gemini and square Mars at 16 degrees Pisces. This potent mutable T-Square with aggressive Mars at its apex causes major disagreements even between people who normally get along very well. With the Moon opposing Venus we are feeling extremely sensitive to criticism right now and can be very reactive to negative comments or slights. With the Moon squaring (or challenging) Mars, irritation and arguments are likely to come up regarding personal security, homelife and the balance between work and home life. This square (or challenge) can further inflame (Mars) emotional moods (Moon) creating a great sense of irritability, disagreement and even violence from June 4th to the 6th.

During the week of the Lunar Eclipse, Venus at 13 degrees Gemini makes a close 3-degree square to transiting Mars. In relationships, with Venus representing women and Mars representing men, partnerships will be put to the test of emotional strain during this time. Tread lightly and give your partner the benefit of the doubt where possible but do hold your ground when needed. There are strong indications too of disagreements over finances (ruled by Venus.) With this Venus rising in the morning during this phase, she is currently in her aggressive “Morning Star” phase which the ancient Maya interpreted as a “Call to War.” Recent conflicts in China over whether the business-rich independent territory of Hong Kong should be re-absorbed as a Chinese territory, beginning as early as May 23rd, show us that major political and military conflicts are brewing. Starting with the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis on the evening of May 25th, many will find themselves walking the fine line between organized protest and lawlessness.

Saturn entered the sign of Aquarius on March 23rd and stays in the sign until July 2nd when it retrogrades back into Capricorn until December 17th. Saturn or “Chronos” represents the evolutionary clock. This Mercury retrograde in the sign of Cancer will cause confusion and scarcity consciousness in the global marketplace. The second of two very rare conjunctions of Jupiter and Pluto in the sign of Capricorn takes place on June 30th at 1:46 p.m. EDT. The first occurred on April 4th when both planets were direct. The Big Celestial News for May 2020 and indeed some of the biggest astrological news of the entire year is the arrival of the North Node in Gemini/South Node in Sagittarius Axis on Wednesday, May 6th.The length of a Nodal Cycle is the time it takes for an eclipse degree and Saros Cycle during that cycle to repeat itself after 18 years. The last time the nodes were in Gemini/Sagittarius was October 14, 2001 to April 14, 2003 and we remember what happened then----the rise of terrorism on a global scale and the bombing of the World Trade Towers in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. on September 11th, 2001. (Saros Cycle 132: The first Solar Eclipse after 911 took place on December 14th, 2001 and the Solar Eclipse just prior to the U.S. outbreak of Covid 19 virus was on December 26th, 2019.) We have just come from a period of having the Nodes of the Moon in Cancer/Capricorn from November of 2018 to present. With its emphasis on the concept of the Cancer-oriented “homeland” and our current president’s insistence on “Making America Great Again,” there has been a strong republican cry to throw up walls around our country, to expel outsiders and to take care of our own. What humanity has discovered through the Corona Virus pandemic however, is similar to what took place in 2001. We can limit international travel, we can hunker-down in our Cancerian crab shell homes, but ultimately, the information we need to overcome our current crisis is going to come from a world-wide effort. It’s going to take great minds from many different continents working together and practitioners on the ground carrying out our new-found best practices to vanquish the Corona Virus dragon.

Since the fall of 2001, cyber-terrorism, cyber-terrorism prevention and dark web crime (all Gemini/Scorpio concepts) have been taken to a world-wide (Sagittarian) scale. In recent weeks, researchers at think tanks, the World Health Organization and universities have recommended the adoption and international maintenance of a pandemic radar system which can track the outbreak of infectious diseases worldwide by searching news media through various algorithms that show clusters of activity. Like early warning radar for hurricanes, cyclones and tornadoes, the Blue Dot system tracks the spread of reported cases of infectious disease and had located Corona Virus spread as early as January 1st of this year. On CBS Sunday Morning this Sunday, May 3rd, the Polio outbreak was compared to the Corona Virus and there was further good news to consider. Dr. Paul Duprex who heads the Center for Vaccine Research at the University of Pittsburgh, made the comparison that it had taken Jonas Salk 6 years to create a reliable vaccine for polio in the 1950s whereas there are signs already now, just 6 months into the Corona Virus spread, that there is likely to be an effective vaccine developed within a single year. The Gemini/Sagittarius nodal cycle that is with us until January of 2022 will bring an incredible abundance of research and international communication to combat this virus and others to come in the 21st Century. New educational systems (Sagittarius) will come about as a result of a need to take care of problems in our immediate environment (Gemini.) The resurgence of old beliefs, traditions and xenophobia (Cancer/Capricorn) that reached a peak in the last nodal cycle, November 2018-April 2020, that stunt our evolution as a species, will now be more easily shaken off. New science and philosophies can emerge as a result of exploring new possibilities (Sagittarius) and sharing them on a much faster news cycle with the world (Gemini.) On a more personal level, we all have the capacity to become Mercury-ruled messengers (Gemini) sharing methods with which to network and share resources in ingenious new ways. Teamwork and networking across borders have made disaster fundraising from home by rock stars work. It’s time for us all to get involved in distance learning and resource-sharing with more world-shrinking possibilities. Buying produce baskets from local farmers at a designated place once a week is just one example of ways in which to support and share resources “outside the box.”

The Full Moon on Thursday, May 7th at 6:45 a.m. EST features a square of Neptune in Pisces to the newly arrived North and South Nodes of the Moon. Neptune rules infectious disease but also the concept of Faith. News hound Mercury is conjunct the Taurus Sun in this Full Moon configuration. This Full Moon indicates the height of awareness of the economic fall-out from the pandemic (Taurus Sun and Mercury) as opposed to its cost in lives (Scorpio.) With Neptunian faith holding the mid-space between these two world-wide crises, it seems that Faith is what we will either have or-- not have-- to carry us through. It has been heart-warming to witness the outpouring of amazing charity and life-saving work that has been done by ordinary citizens worldwide at this time. If we can stay the course and let science AND faith work TOGETHER, it appears we can vanquish this foe in less than the 2-year cycle than most pandemics appear to have had on the planet up to now.

Here is a run down of the most deadly Jupiter/Pluto pandemics in recorded history AD.

From 1346 to 1353 the Bubonic Plague, also known as the “The Black Death,” killed 60% of Europe’s population via an infection that circulates among rats. At its peak in 1347, Jupiter and Pluto were conjunct in Aries. As an interesting parallel to our current times, in 1346 Jupiter moved from Aquarius into Pisces – in as it will again in late 2021. Aquarius rules large groups of people and Pisces rules hard to diagnose viral infections.

The last outbreak of the Bubonic Plague, from 1770 to 1772, was known as the Russian Plague. It is estimated that there were between 50,000 and 100,000 deaths in Moscow . On September 15th 1771, a plague riot broke out as residents revolted against the government convinced that the outbreak was the doing of the state. The Jupiter/Pluto conjunction in 1771 was exact at 17 degrees Capricorn in September. A thousand people died a day in Moscow and over 20,000 died in a month.

The Spanish Flu outbreak worldwide in January of 1918 lasted until December 1920 took place with a Jupiter/Pluto conjunction in Cancer. During that global pandemic a third of the world’s population were infected quarter of the world’s population (50 million people) died. The Spanish flu was the first of two pandemics caused by the H1N1 influenza virus . The second was the swine flu in early 2009 . Jupiter and Pluto were both in the last degree of Sagittarius in late 2007 (1 degree prior to Capricorn) and were both in Capricorn, although not conjunct, in 2008/2009.

The HIV outbreak took place in October and November of 1981 when Jupiter & Pluto were conjunct in the sign of Libra. The astrological equation for that deadly outbreak was sex = death and for the first time we became aware that having sex could kill us. By December 1994, the year of the next Jupiter/Pluto conjunction in Scorpio, HIV had become the leading cause of death amongst people between the ages of 25 and 44.

Now let’s take a look at the 2020 transits and what they may portend for the course of the virus.

In 2020, The first conjunction of Jupiter/Pluto on April 4, 2020 at 25 degrees of Capricorn will take place with both Jupiter and Pluto direct. The second conjunction on June 30, 2020 will also take place at 25 degrees of Capricorn but with both planets slowing down in retrograde and potentially giving us a break from the virus. If Governor Cuomo of New York observes his 5 weeks past the peak rule to relax stay at home restrictions and the peak takes place between April 6 and April 17 as he has indicated, then perhaps life could get back to normal around June 1st in New York. Since other states are 2 weeks behind New York’s peak, if we extend that five week grace period to 2 weeks later, then mid-June may be the time when much of the country will finally be able to relax restrictions. Finally, after Jupiter and Pluto both station direct again in the fall, they will form their final conjunction of the series on November 12, 2020 at 23 degrees of Capricorn. As Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases since 1984 has stated, it is likely that we will have another outbreak in the fall. Perhaps that will begin sometime around November 12th when Jupiter and Neptune make that final direct conjunction.

The initial overview of the Covid-19 changes to world health, politics and economics reaches a first crisis point on April 4th, just 3 days before the extremely intense Super Full Moon in Libra. An important turn of events or “revisioning” will take place in June and July when Jupiter and Pluto are retrograde. This potential plateauing or downturn in Covid-19 cases will allow for a realistic plan for how to proceed against the virus for an expected return to the Northern Hemisphere in the fall. Once we reach the final conjunction November 12th, we may have learned how to adjust to a 21st Century approach to a global pandemic. Then and only then, will we be able to fully understand how to work together effectively against Covid-19.

The New Moon on Wednesday, April 22nd takes place at 10:26 p.m. EDT at 4 degrees Taurus. Today is Earth Day and a Taurus Moon, representing the beauty of Nature could not be more appropriate as spring begins to bloom in the Northern Hemisphere. As of late 2018, solar flares began to diminish from the 11-year cycle of high activity they had been manifesting. What is interesting about the diminishing of Solar Activity is that when solar flares from our Sun take a break from bombarding our planet, we begin to receive cosmic rays from other star systems, such as Sirius, and even the Galactic Center itself. The Star system of Sirius is actually binary (containing two stars), Sirius A and Sirius B and perhaps even a third. This makes this star in the constellation of Canis Major the brightest in the night sky. In fact, the brightness of Sirius is 10 times that of our own Sun. Each year Sirius reaches alignment with our nation’s birthdate on July 4th. Welcome to 2020! We’ve arrived at the start of the second decade of the century. As a kid, you may have watched Star Trek or Star Wars and thought that the year 2020 seemed so un-obtainably far, in the distant future. NOW----- it is HERE! And not only are we starting a new decade but a New Age! The 1970s Broadway hit “Hair,” gave us the Fifth Dimension’s song “Aquarius.” Over the past ten years, the Age of Aquarius became a favorite astrology research topic of mine. In the year 2012, the start of that fabled astrological “New Age of Aquarius” became a reality. Each astrological “Age” lasts 2,155 years and comprises the time that the celestial path of the North Star, Polaris, takes to pass through an entire constellation of stars. The Age of Pisces began several hundred years before the birth of Christ and had its symbolic “beginning of its end” on December 21st, 2012. With each new Astrological Age, human beings have an opportunity to evolve. The Piscean Age brought about the development of organized religion, leaders who interpreted the word of God for the common people and the concept of contrition and self-sacrifice. In contrast, the Aquarian Age brings the diversification of religion and the concept of self-creation of our lives that doesn’t require sacrifice, but instead, views the creation of personal happiness and success as available to all.

On December 4th of 2019, we reached the first of two major celestial markers in the 2,155-year cycle: the arrival of OUTER PLANETS IN THE LAST THREE ZODIAC SIGNS- Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces. The most important planetary shift which takes place this year is the movement of outer planet Saturn from Capricorn to Aquarius. On Sunday, March 21st, Saturn enters the sign of Aquarius where it will give our lives an electrical “charge-up” in the area of career, life/work balance and standing in the community. Political and military upsets are likely this month around the world. Seismic activity is also on the rise, especially during the Full Moon week of the 5th to the 11th of April. In the world of science, new discoveries are birthed and announced. In the arts, fierce new forms of expression raise their heads to the light of day. The upcoming finale of History Channel’s “Vikings” series is an apt symbol for this exciting Aries/Taurus month.

Emotional WATER SIGN MERCURY RETROGRADES will occur this year from February 16th-March 9th in Pisces, June 18th-July 12th in Cancer and October 13th-November 3rd in Scorpio and Libra. A vote recount of some kind is likely to be needed on Election Day 2020. This is likely because Mercury goes direct again at 12:50 p.m. EDT on the Election Tuesday, November 3rd under a Moon in Gemini with Mercury in Libra. Choices! Choices! Choices! As much as Geminis and Librans don’t like to make them---they’re necessary---especially today! A LONG VENUS RETROGRADE will take place over a 44-day period this year from May 13th to June 25th in the sign of Gemini. During this month and a half, love affairs cool off and Venus-ruled natives, Taurus and Libra, will be feeling less than fabulous. WE WILL ALSO EXPERIENCE A 2020 MARS RETROGRADE from September 9th-November 13th in the sign of Aries. With Mars retrograde, our physical strength and primal instincts will be weakened for various reasons during this period.
